I would like recommendations on make (and model) for a very stable and reliable satellite receiver cum PVR. No need for loads of leading/bleeding-edge features, just something that works well.

Having only had named service boxes (disregarding the Humax FoxSat), the palette available by looking at a few stores is absolutely bewildering.

Current (active) boxes I have include Sky+ HD box, the FoxSat, and a Pace for Viasat. What I am looking for is something to complement the three boxes with a free-to-air box running everything else.

Main requirements are:
- HDD (large) recording
- Stability (box will be very much running unattended)
- Ehternet + FTP from elsewhere

Ability to run Viaccess and Conax would be nice, but not must-have.

I know many people would say "get a dreambox x00", but I really don't want to fiddling to much with linux images etc, but rather have a nice stable workhorse, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Suggestions appreciated.

Vu+ Duo is worth considering. I know Ive slagged it off summat rotten but thats more for the deficiencies in the software for tinkering with :D
