hello,
yes they have and are there now.
i added a second lnb on my dish and set it up saturday.
if you have sky italia you will have some problems .
all the information is on afn europe as well as installers.
i am one of them.
ralph

I realigned my dish this evening. On my meter 12.341V wont lock, it locks at 12.342V If i count up it unlocks again at 12.349V

Therefore the centre frequency is actually 12.345V not 12.341 as AFN advertise

Same is for the other transponder 12.418 will lock, but 12.421 gives far better dB margin and BER

Confirmed with both a box and digital meter.

So my meter is set for
12.345V and 12.421V to align these 2 transponders

This was checked on a 1m dish Fracarro (My steerable one)

Anyone else back this up? Ralph, you care to check this please.

hello,
network id 10 and not 6
sr 27500 new, 28000 will not work old sr
lnb could be 1 or 2 mhz off but it should lock.

lo 9.750
lo2 10.600
cross over 11.700
v or v fixed
27.500
net id 10
that should do it.
ralph

Are these channels open.

Good grief no - they use PowerVu which is just about the most secure encryption out :D

hello,
what do you mean open free.
no they are not free.
do you have a afn decoder?
if not than you will not receive this.
i have my dish on 9 east as of saturday and its working no problem.
made a bracket for 13 and 9 east and it is working as well.
if you don't have a power vu decoder you can never pick this up.
ralph

It's not just the decoder you need - it's authorisation from AFN to open the channels...

Never gave the LNB L.O. tolerance a thought. Yeah my movable dish has an old LNB on it, something I found in the garage. Maybe it is out a touch. i only use it to find new channels and configure my FS1 meter.

I was up at the Support site last night in Naples. Got some info about AFN is moving to TVoIP service. 1st box free, each box after $6 per month rental. Service is over ADSL. Maybe the days for satellite to the home are soon over.

Not a chance ................ I'm sure the UK is by no means alone in having significant areas with no or very slow ADSL and not a lot of (believable) prospect of that situation markedly improving for years.

hello,
ip afn no way!
this is just for the support site.
telecon won the bid. this afn ip is injected for the support site and can not flow outside the base.

also they will flow sky italia on base as well.
i heard 90 euro hook up.
$54 a month for 25 tv channels
might be ready by sept 2011.
i was one of the bidders on this project.
but the demands were so high only no medium company could bid on this.
just telecom and tks cable.
AFN on the support site they will use ip so one box can be used for AFN as well as sky italia.
ralph

Argh that clears that up. Still lots of AFN by satellite to look after then

hello tivu,
here the alice adsl is suposed to be 7 meg download.
it is more like 3.5 meg.
it is though 256k up.give or take 1 k.
from the looks of things there will be problems on the support site for sure.
heard it on the grape vine.
ralph

Nice .............. I have 700kpbs download and 150kpbs upload!
