Indeed. Classical migration path from CAS (Conditional Access System) to DRM (Digital Rights Management) - key sharing between the two while the migration happens.
Preserves the investment in legacy (SD/PV) equipment while allowing selective upgrade to HD (and beyond) with VMX.
I am sure Tom and his guys are happy - VMX has been touting soft-DRM all along, even in the heydays of card-based CAS (0's).

Can someone explain the difference between DRM and CAS? Classically, DRM was something to be found on streaming sites, such as iPlayer, which required proprietary players with certificates and ...??.. to play a video. How does it work with Verimatrix?
