Africasat 2 is an elderly far Eastern bird that was relocated to european skies in late 2009/early 2010. Africasat 2 is the new name for Measat 2 launched as far back as 1996!
She is really only at 5.7E to get the orbital slot activated, and will be replaced once Africasat 2A goes into service in early 2011.
Africasat 2 carries a C-band payload and a Ku-band payload, although there is little if any coverage into the majority of Europe.
