lol i guess i enter that on my blade box ? im a novice mind :>)

sure you dont want to do it for me if your not to far away ill pay .... its doing my head in thought 18 years married was bad but this motorised stuff is a big learning curve.

Hi Jeremy...Sounds like your having a tough time
Can't give you a lot of advice...only to stick with it and you will get there..I just installed my new motor at the weekend which went quiet smoothly. I found thor quite easily and decided to manually tune in the other sats as USALS wasn't working for me. I did find that i had to adjust the motor bracket by a notch or 2 from what the instructions said it should be and it did help having a mate sat by the tv whilst i moved the dish. Stick with it, you'll be glad you did once you get it sorted

118 miles round trip, certainly not feasible for an alignment. Keep at it, failing that try a local outfit specialising in motor installs.

But, you are local ;)

Compared to Surrey, yes.. ;)

I'd go further than that... but there's no traffic here.

lol well i had to bite the bullet and pay £69 for a pro to come good news was he said i had done a great install and if i wanted a job he would give me one lol everything was perfect plumb etc and set correct, it was because i had a cheap £15 sat finder and that was just not giving me the perfect position. Took him 4-5 minutes with his 2k computer box gadjet sat finder thing he just put thor in the box moved the dish and then got it in perfect position, even when he tightened the bolts it all made a difference he had to tighten left one then right etc. I may have got there in the end but looks like it would have been pure luck to get the spot on position without the good kit :>)
Many thanks for all your help and advice i also think its better having 2 men instead of your wife helping you move the dish etc lol.
Regards
Jeremy

Well that's a good result, Jeremy.

I hope you paid close attention so that you'll be able to find that extra bit of confidence for your next install or for a re-alignment of the one you've now got.

Yep think i got this motorised stuff all sorted thanks to this forum and guides lol i was nearly there just needed that better bit of kit to show me the signal strength on a digital meter ! but im not paying 2k lol

Yes, saves a lot of time with correct kit / meter.

Anyhow, a nice result ;)

Thanks to you and everyone again on here for help and advice taking the time to help me out, time to learn the satellite tv channels now lol

Result..Excellent news. See you had it spot on if wasnt for that sat meter. well done. When i installed mine i found thor 1 with a help of a mate at the tv screen then used the manual east and west button to find the other sats scan and then store..i was amazed at how easy it was to find the others. Happy viewing and hopefully the wife is happy too!

Nice one Jeremy. I must admit, I was keeing an eye on this thread, I work near Gloucester and I was tempted to come and help, and I was sure you might have got there yourself in the end after Satelliteman mentioned checking your motor inclination, which sounds like you very nearly did! I've set up my own dish a few times, but I left the pro installers to offer you best advice. Well done.

Its good to learn and i enjoyed learning just frustrating i could not get over the last hurdle :>) lol

I'll guarantee if you do it again it will take you less than half an hour! Just setup a new motor setup for myself and was surprised at how easy it was second time round!
