all 2A and 2B frequencies rearranged? new EPG??

last sunday 23 oct, my sly card got deactivated. nothing strange as it had been working in a d*ragon cam for over 2 months and I was waiting for the moment it got deactivated. So I put it back in its panasonic30 to refresh it but after a few minutes (it was early afternoon) the receiver switched to stand-by by itself (no power problem, it was like a remote command) and when I switched it on again the epg was gone and all the channels listings. No chance of getting the default one 11778, I got into OTHER CHANNELS were many channels were manually tuned, but most of them were gone giving no signal. I thought that they had suddenly rearranged the frequency plan forcing the download of the new plan (and maybe also a new default channel) so I could not get my sly card reactivated. So I inserted manually, one by one, all the frequencies on 2A and 2B and, to my biggest surprise, I found out that not only they had basically changed them all with respect to the last lyngsat list that I had printed (dated end of august 2005, two months old), but that now I could pick up all the channels which went lost in past year or so. It seems that they had swopped most channels and inverted the polarization : all (almost all, 2 were left as they were) the V frequencies have become H and viceversa and what was on one frequency is now on another one. I can pick (manually) all the movie channels (and many more) while before I could only get 9-7 and cinema 1-2. I found that out only because I have done everything manually otherwise I wouldn't have realized.
Anyway, does anybody know anymore information like if this a stable situation or about to change again (found many test cards)? Has it been maybe caused by the new contracts signed by channel 4, itv and bbc on 2A and 2B? Am I dreaming and the new manual set-up was only in my mind? Can anyone else check if what I am sayng is right?
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ME HOW TO GET BACK THE DEFAULT CHANNEL IF I DON'T KNOW THE NEW FREQUENCY (IF ANY)?

Seeing as most of the channels on 28E have not changed frequency, I would say theres something wrong with your equipment.

Try using 12207 V for a default transponder and see what happens.

I'm very near you here in Italy (about an hour south of Rome) and have had no such problems.
May I ask what size dish you are using for Sky??? Is it your 90cm or your 130cm???
The 90cm dish is a little small to pick up all Sky's channels 24/7 so I'll take it you're using that. The problem frequencies (even with my 1.25m) are those on 2A North beam, 11778 V, 11836 H, 11914 H, 11856 V being the worst in our area in early morning especially, followed by 12148 H, 12168 V, 12226 H but only in bad weather mainly in the morning. No problems in the evening.
The 'default' transponder of 11778 v is at it's strongest in our area between 18.00 and 21.00.
To cut a long story short a 1.5m dish and decent lnb is what's needed in our area to be sure of 24 hour a day reception in all weathers of all channels excluding of course those on 2D.
If you can not get your card going again please let me know and maybe I can arrange to meet you and activate said card in my digibox.

Welcome to the forum, but PLEASE dont hijack existing threads with questions about unrelated stuff. This thread is for discussion of problems a chap is having with reception of Sky UK programming, NOT for discussion of Spanish stuff on Hispasat.

As for your question, the Spanish channels went secure encrypted a few days ago, so if you want them you will have to pay for them.

unfortunately it's too much of a hassle changing dish from 130 to 150 and to really have some improvement I should try with 180 so I just dropped the idea. I don't know what happened, but something has definitely happened. With the sly shittybox I basically could not see almost anything for the whole summer and very few channels in the rest of the year and that's why I started using a dragon cam and normal receiver which is gold when compared to the shittybox (and I do have a panny 30 which is one the best in fringe reception areas). then I did what I did to reactivate the card and discovered from one minute to another that I could tune in manually in the shittybox all the channels that I could not see anymore. Anyway I will always use the echostar and reactivate the card when needed because there no comparison with the picture quality. the shittybox stays there only for reactivation purposes or maybe for when the german n*s splitter will work (good fro sly italia, too).
