I was sorting out the Tivù Towers music collection yesterday and vaguely thinking how infrequently we listen to many of them. Then I turned it on its head and gave some thought to which ones got regular airings.

As an all-time favourite I came up with one clear winner: An album that never really hit the public consciousness back in 1973, by that enduring icon Bruce Springsteen.

The album is called "The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle" and is a wonderful example of story-telling lyrics and fabulously varied music which ranges from the evocative and gentle right through to the vibrant and raunchy.

I suppose the one I listen to the most is the compilation Pink Floyd album Echoes. Others I listen to less frequently are Best of OMD, Six Wives of Henry VII (both original and Hampton Court), Best of Queen, War of the Worlds (live version), Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (one studio and two live albums!) and host of different compilation albums. All in the car of course!
 
Depends on the mood on any particular day suppose. Miles Davis' 'Kind Of Blue' any time, any day, anywhere is my top choice.

for pop, Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds' fills the bill.

For a laugh, 'The Best Of Spike Jones' or Bonzo Dogs' 'Gorilla'.
 
This is difficult as I have a very eclectic taste in music. I did have 'Dark Side Of The Moon' on vinyl but didn't replace it when I went over to CD (that dates me).

If push came to shove though, it would have to be 'Buena Vista Social Club' by Ry Cooder et al. It never fails to both make me smile and tap my feet. It's also the only cd I've ever bought through a recommendation from a record store assistant (in Florida!).
 
Probably Dire Straits 'brothers in arms' or Mark Knopfler 'Local Hero' for a chill out...

Or Metallica 'ReLoad' for a bit of a thrash...

I like all sorts of music.
 
As above, it all depends on the mood, time of day, and how much time I have free.

Last night it was 20 minutes of Ivor Biggun's More Filth Dirt Cheap. Tonight I have a Kate Bush album lined up on the record deck.
 
It changes a lot, but if I think of my old vinyls then I literaly wore down Pink Floyd Animals, Deja vu - Crossby Stills Nash + Young, THe London Howling wolf Sessions, The Wall and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Survivor by Bob Marley. I still listen to them, but nowadays more on CDs, Jimi Hendriy - Axis bold as love, Curtis Mayfield - Superfly, Everlast Eat at Whiteys, Lauren Hill the Misseducation of, Goverment Mule and Allman Brothers (any of the many CD's I got).

My favourite in the last year has been Habib Koite CD's, the new Eminem, Best of ZZ Top and anything by Bob Marley. And all the blues greats in between :)
