If I did not break, it would be an insurance issue. Yeah, crazy drivers are all around.
Afterward, when I got home I tried this product of Scotland (almost a member of family brought it as a present directly from distillery. )IMG_20230103_190839.jpg It is a good stuff, I must say.

Oh plenty of those idiots around. And in an Audi A2 hairdresser car (probably the worst car I've ever driven).

Happens almost every other day round here, particularly with the mini roundabouts (they are signposted but who cares ?)
I've been known to stop a few metres further up the road, blocking a chance to pass, get out the car, walk back to the idiot and ask if they are French.

You only have to watch the dashcam footage on all those police-chase (etc.) programmes on many tv/sat channels to see how many times this sort of thing happens "everywhere" every day.

I was speaking from personal experience. The daily school run for example requires us to travel over two of the mini roundabouts (if they vere T-junctions there would be little chance of exiting into the main road) . Similarly the supermarket run requires traversing another three.

Having now been a French resident (and driving a LHD car) for over 20 years, I can concur with this opinion. Some (not all) French drivers will tailgate, omit indicators, overtake in the most stupid places and generally drive with impatience. Worse are the retired farmers, who think they are still driving tractors and trailers at 30kph and swing out wide to the right when turning left. Thankfully the only time we see mini roundabouts is when someone drops half a load of manure on the road....
 
Having driven from England to Sweden a good while back, I have formed certain opinions about different countries drivers.

1) France - what Pete said, plus all cars seem to have at least one dent or a scrape on it.
2) Belgium - crazy fast drivers with seemingly little regard for anyone on the road.
3) Holland - most drivers seem to be asleep at the wheel. Super slow and just get in your way.
4) Germany - all I remember is being left standing by Deutchmobiles while I was doing 90mph on the 'bahn.
5) Denmark - actually a relatively calm experience with considerate drivers, somewhat slow but not getting in your way.

I've not driven abroad for quite a few years and then only in 1), 2) & 4) of those above, but I agree with CJ on those:
- In France many years ago, and when driving a very old (& already battered!) BMC J4 minibus, we got hit by a Renault 4 (or something like that). I got out, took a look at the J4 and wasn't bothered about the small new dent, and the Renault driver did the same for his car - and then just drove off!
- Belgium - didn't drive there much at all but tend to agree
- Germany - in 1969, driving an even older Bedford minibus, we broke down on the Autobahn due to failed distributor points. A German cop BMW later stopped, asked what was wrong, and showed him the buggered points. He said he'd take me to a local garage to see if they could help, so I got in the cop car, and - "just chatting" - I asked how fast that BMW could go, so he put his foot down and we were soon pretty flat out down the Autobahn! (and when we got to the garage, they hadn't got a new set of points, but one of the guys went round the back and came back about 30 mins later with a used, but usable set of old Vauxhall points! Thanked him, got back in the BMW and we hurtled offback down the Autobahn back to the minibus, and were soon on our way back to England ):)

OTOH, the worst drivers I ever came across were those in Yugoslavia (when it was that) and Turkey - absolutely bloody dangerous & lethal!

Even if you are "OK" with French drivers, be prepared for shocks in Turkey - especially if you are driving at night in the countryside (and which I wouldn't now even consider) as many vehicles may have faulty lighting!

Oh, we have encountered many 'cyclops' tractors here, their elderly 'conducteurs' weaving their way back home...

We only intend to hire a car for a few days (whilst in and around Izmir) and there should be no driving in the dark..
 
At least you're not trying to drive in India or Nepal. Those places are from another world (in all senses of the phrase).

They seems to be missing in the list. Perhaps you never made it to the finisg and that could explain 6, but at least you
must have left England... :->
 
Sweden I went as far as Malmo, so just across the Oresund Strait Bridge from Copenhagen and haven't driven there enough to make an opinion.

England is full of idiots. And not just on the road.

Remembered that I also have back camera, made another clip of the same event. I am not angry to audi's driver, as such situations happen very often.
