Alternative to SKY Italia?

Hi all

My locals SKY Italia subs have expired and I was after any recommendations for alternative packages - Sports access is the main reason for subs. Some of the old timers are grumbling about the recent language problems with Italia so any experience of a reliable alternative is much appreciated.

Tring on 16E... Full Coverage but Picture quality aint special
Abu Dhabi HD - 26E ... Full Coverage but only AD Box can be used...all games in HD
 
AD is not a viable option for most people in the UK due to the insane dish sizes required :D
 
Viasat Sweden is a good choice for English football, but very expensive. You get all ten EPL games live every week.

But nothing gets the wide range of sports that Ѕky Italy gets.
 
nova greece is another option but will cost to hold of the card/receiver or viasat.

the loss of english audio doesn't really bother me just being able to see the games is more important
 
I've been recently supplying sky germany to my pubs which has english audio and 1 3pm game including all your normal weekend games. Seems a bit cheaper that italia too..

Sky UK = Sky Italia = Sky Germany

As soon as SkyUK reckon theres a big enough installed base of Sky Germany installs to be eating into their profits the English commentaries will disappear faster than a snowball on a hot summers day.
 
we have rejigged it at our club, gone from 2 sky italia's to 1 italia and 1 viasat. The latter i picked up for 1300 sovs. Although it was stated last week that the premier league will be going after viasat next regarding english commentary. I have been told if you download some software to your laptop you can alter the time delay on that and run it through your speakers
 
Thanks for the replys, I think trying some sort of audio sync is going to be the best option to keep the Italia range of channels. Does anybody think SKY will completely pull English on all foriegn packages? it seems the obvious thing to do otherwise they are just playing a never ending game of cat and mouse.
 
The sound has not been pulled just commentary, i dont think thats bad with some of the annoying commentators lol U-zzz
 
English Commentary cannot go from everywhere, it's part of the package deal some, including Viasat, signed. Gives them a 24/7 EPL channel and English commentary
