A bit of a long shot this one, but just wondering if anyone in the UK has had any success picking this one up. I remember when the old Amos was positioned there around 18 months ago i did get one channel from it, but not had anything from the new one. The UK is covered by the beam, but only 36dBw, which in theory needs a huge dish, but when you look at some of the other sats we can get here that we aren't covered by at all, i thought it might be worth giving it a go. Don't think i'll have much success with my 1.2m, but maybe some of you with 1.8m and 2.4m dishes might get something, would be interested to see any results!

hi satsearcher a few of us have picked up c-band channels on this sat,you do not say if its ku or c-band that you want to pick up.cheers

Mainly interested in KU band reception as i don't have C band capabilities

don,t think i,v tried k/u from this sat --- very clear skies here today --
will give it a go - tonight - have to go to work right now ---
cheers

If I get time over the weekend I'll swap the feed to Ku on the 1.8 and give it a go as well.

hi -
the only transponder showing a signal for me here is 12.625 V 4000 2/3 --
but its below lock -- and being DVB-S2 8 PSK probably well below lock.

using 1.8 offset -- with very clear skies. maybe someone further south could manage to get it --

regards :)

Thanks for having a look, tried myself but as expected got nothing! Will be interesting to see if people further south have better luck.

hi satsearcher will also try when i swap over to ku band.

Looking for an Amos-5 Ku-band thread here, and this seems to be the most recent one.
Is Amos-5 Ku-band really so hard in the UK or is nobody trying?
Anyway, 11884 V 27500 3/4 is always doing its best to achieve a lock, often it does at about 4.5...4.7 dB but that's only good enough for stuttery audio, and the occacional video frame.
So, "TVT TOGO AFRIQUE" is what's new on this transponder, at the expense of 2 Cameroon channels.

I'm getting 11884V 27500 3/4 in West London , UK.
Signal on clear evening is 5.6db which locks the transponder.
Dish is a 1.5M.
Cant get any other transponders but i will try again later.

Congrats, I always thought 17 E should make it to UK as well! Indeed early evening has the best reception.

Wow! In Ku as well... Only ever locked a C band transponder. Will give this one a go...

hi all tried this bird a few minutes ago got 12208H at 47% qualityP9210012.webp only channel which is fta

I'm also getting this channel with 7.1db.
Tested all other KU transponders but it looks like 11884V and 12208H are the limit for a 150cm dish in southern UK.

hi forksofjoy 12208H is the strongest just tried a minute ago has gone up to 51% quality,11884V cannot lock yet,10970V and 11008V both go up to 50% or more but not enough for lock

Tricky for me as my Ku lnb is offset from the focus ..
but have managed a poor lock on 12208H at 4.7db ..
No pics to show as yet
Will try for the Verticals next

...hold up ..
almost a picture ...

No chance on 10970 ..and sadly too close to 16E ..the lock dafaults to 11011V when going for 11008V
rgds
Might have a chance with the Ku lnb at the focus (narrower beam) but more hassle than it's worth.

Got it with a 6db snr on Freq 12208 H - 20 Channels although all encypted except one. Nothing on 11884V.
Dish 1.5.

Just for info : 12208 H is also receivable in Slovenia with 120 cm. 11884V was receivable months ago, the power seems to be lower last months. Picture will follow in the evening.
