Hello!
on 17 east now is Amos 5i,with some cband and kuband transponder,i dont try this position yet,are the any recpetion reports in the meantime from europe?
for c and kuband?
since the satelite on 16 east eutelsat w2m,has been replaced, after the technical fault of the old "bird",is there maybe now a change,to receiving the reunion beam now with large dishes in europe?
in a old show,dr dish told, was posible long time ago with 3 meter dish,in alacante spain area,i cannot cofirm this, maybe then the satellite was old and lost power, but now is another one, maybe situation, has
changed now?

Somebody on another site in the UK managed to pick up the Kurdsat ku channel on 17E a few days ago with a 1.2M dish. I would have thiought that would be debatable given the official footprint of that beam, but he uploaded some pics taken from his receiver, and they look convincing enough.

Thanks for the confirmation. Could you check during the day sometime nelson_b (or anybody else).

hi -
i,m even getting a stable picture on 1.2 dish -- even under very cloudy skies --
just realised i cant check C band properly as the C band l.n.b. i,m using at the moment has a fixed dielectric plate --( co rotor) which spoils the reception for weak linear C band signals --

regards nelson.b.

Interesting. I'm supposed to be nearer the footprint than you, and can only see a pimple on my spec. analyser with my 1.2 dish, def. no signal on any of my receivers.

it is most odd -- footprint map must be wrong -- surely,

i just had another go - fine tuning the polarisation/skew on the C band co rotor
and got a borderline signal -- so without a dielectric plate i,m sure it would be quite good ---
