Amstrad DRX180 Sky+ Hard Drive Upgrade

Hi,

Has anyone tried to upgrade the hard drive in the new Amstrad DRX180 Sky+ boxes?

I briefly tried with a Western Digital 80Gb drive, but the free space indicator does not go above 43%.

Any advice would be appreciated.

did you do housekeeping on the new disk?
 
I had gone into the Set up menu, (Services, 4,0,1 select) and then I had performed a full system reset, this was the only option that looked suitable.

This was the point that it offered the 43% free.

The Amstrad Sky+ box menu was slightly different, I had read for the Pace that Housekeeping was number 8, but mine is 7?
 
sounds like you have old software on the box......switch off at mains, wait 20 seconds, hold down backup on the front of the box, keep holding and fire up mains....keep holding until it says updating software.......then do 4-0-1-select and see if you have housekeeping and planner rebuild......if you do, do housekeeping.....and then I think the new software will show you having 100% free
