Amstrad DRX890 query

Hi,

I have been fitting DRX890s lately as they seem to perform very well. Had one that was breaking up, even on very strong channels. This one is made in Romania, where all the others were made in China. Just a rogue box, or are Chinise and Romanian boxes different?
 
Well just got round to opening up this box. Checked the capacitors visually - none with round tops. So a bit stuck now, will probably have to wait until I can get my hands on another model, and swap panels, until I find the panel at fault.


One thing that did surprise me is that there is no lid on the tuner can. I looked on the internet at picture of another one and that didn´t have a lid on. The side part of the can has the metal nibs for fitting a lid, I wonder why one is not fitted (heat?) as surely it would provide better screening.
