Customers of British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC (BSkyB) has a lot to look forward to this coming March 2012. The digital satellite company recently announced the launch of their all-new channel dedicated to providing subscribers with in-depth and high-definition coverage of Formula 1 motor racing next year. The 2012 F1 season is scheduled to take place March 16 in Melbourne, Australia, and BSkyB will be there every step of the way to capture the entire event on camera. Aside from covering all 20 races from March to November, Sky will also be broadcasting all the practice plus qualifying sessions, which should provide subscribers with an even fuller viewing experience. "This brand-new channel again proves Sky's commitment to investing in the best content for customers. It will give even more value to Sky customers and create another reason for others to consider pay TV," said Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Darroch. The new channel, “Sky Sports F1 HD," will be made available at no additional costs to consumers who have subscribed to Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, or the HD pack of channels. As for those that don’t have the HD package, they’ll still be given access to the dedicated Formula 1 channel, but in the standard definition only.
