Anyone got one lying around they want to sell?

Thanks,

Possibly.

I bought one from Leroy Merlin in Paris three or four years ago, to allow SWMBO to watch free French from 5W and for Eurosport.

But not only don't I actually watch Eurosport, but the free French Digitals look like they are surviving at least as long as the Analogues.

It's a Systec and is in Mint Condition.

I'll think about whether it really is surplus to requirements over the next few days.

If I do let it go (and I'm warming to the idea), I would prefer not to entrust it to the post.

I see you are in Northumberland and I am in N.Yorks so perhaps you might give some thought as to "handover"?

About £25 should appeal.

I wouldn't mind taking the risk of having it posted or even by courier mate, it just seems a bit of a waste driving up here!

I wasn't suggesting I drive up .............. just wondering if you or a friend/family member might forseeably be passing this way in the near future.

Post/Courier is not an option due to lack of facilities/restricted mobility/disinclination borne of bad experience on my part.

But there may be other sources: IIRC Pixmania had some Brand New Metronics available not so long ago - don't know if that's still the case.

Edit Just discovered they were last sold at £23.50 , but are no more.

Plenty on fleabay.

And there's a new Metronic here _http://shop.d2leisuregroup.co.uk/product1215560265catno0.html

Not cheap!

Got my eye on a few on ebay, might even be cheap as some spell analogue as analog! I also asked freecycle but got nothing back, you rarely do unless you're giving stuff away

Hopefully it will be slightly more reliable than their Freesat offering.

Got an answer on Freecycle, hope they're close enough! I'll let you know.

Picking it up on Monday, thanks for your help anyway :) An old Sky analogue box will do the job right?

Yes. Hope its got the remote - many of them require it to change the tuning and other parameters!

Glad you got sorted out.

Can I ask why you're so keen to get one?

Call me sad but I've always been intrigued by them even as a child. I just want to see what it's like and get some free Eurosport before they all go.

Well I hope your desires are fulfilled!

Got it and it works well. He's given me the wrong remote but it was free so I'm not complaining. I could get one for £10 off a website if i was deperate. It's a Grundig STR 300 T and the only issue is on Eurosport the English track plays out the right speaker and the english track out the left but still working well.

Thanks for your help

Well surely all you need do is adjust the Audio settings?

English = 7.02 and toggle the sound modes until it comes right.

Or are you snookered by having the wrong Telecommander?

It's working now for some reason, theres multiple Eurosport channels scattered through as I channel hop so one must be english, another german and one both but I'll check later. Can only change channel without the remote.

Well there is only one actual Channel, although it comes with three different sound carriers - so perhaps it's been stored once per sound carrier?

Yeah, must have done. Luckily the English one is first when I can't be bothered to use the German one. I can't listen when multitasking
