Can I set up my dish to point at one location and get all these channels?

or are they all different positions?

if so are those motorised dish add-ons any good?

Free to Air satellite comes from a number of satellites, some are above Europe, Some not, Some on Ku band, some not, Some with a small dish , some not

So the way to get a maximum number of channels would be a large multi-band motorised system, anything less reduces the channel number available

I pick up 173 tv and radio stations from 24 satellites in analogue using a 1.2m dish.

Would pick up thousands if i had a ci digital satellite receiver.
