Is it possible to animate avatars? They are animated if you click on them but not on the main page.

Looks like ImageMagick needs to be installed and enabled at server level.

They used to be animated some years ago. Stopped at some point. I guess at a reconfiguration or software upgrade.

IIRC they were stopped because they were a big drain on server resources

As far as i remember, it's the Xenforo software doesn't seem to like them, they were always alright with vBulletin.

With Xenforo software animations only seem to work when you click on to the members profile, at that point animated avatars should work.

Click my avatar and you will see.

Well, it would be a bigger drain on the users' browsers rather than servers but I guess ImageMagick also uses more resources? Not sure.

Yes, the animations stopped after we upgraded to xenforo... shame.

Yeah, it's a double edged sword. I am happy not to see CH's avatar throwing up all over my screen but, at the same time, I want to see my Nagravision one animate :D

I used to have an animation of a fuzzy CRT screen, I referred to it as my avatar having been DSO'd... :-rofl2

Current one's just something I instagrammed from the shed a while back...

Ahh, I was hoping it would swing back and forth like the one in the opening credits to Callan.

Nah, I took it while it was being powered by my then-repaired Honda generator, not enough room to swing a cat in that shed, never mind a 200W incandescent bulb... :-rofl2
