We probably all know the scams got though emails - where you click on the link which brings up a realistic copy of your e-banking logon page.

Here's a more devious one that happened to me yesterday.

Logged onto lloydstsb to do some financial bits n bobs as per normal (typed in the address myself), and got to the accounts page as per usual. Then, suddenly the background dimmed and up popped a highly realistic page over it asking me for additional security details (memorable word etc). Got halfway through typing in my credit card details before smelling a rat - in particular why it was asking for my dob, full card details and csv number. Phoned lloyds who confirmed that this isn't one of their procedures and that it was a spyware/virus that had got onto my pc..

Happy solution is that we blocked the account immediately, ran a virus checker and have removed (hopefully) the offending thingy, and back up and running today with new password.

Beware - these scammers are getting very clever if they can get fraudulent pages up on screen asking for details whilst you have actually legitimately logged on using your address bar.
