hi i have i fortecstar 4200 sd reciever with two dishes is it possible to use both dishes on different satellites and use a splitter round the wrong way so i can join both to one lead at the reciever

Not a splitter, you need a switch. Either a simple A/B switch where you have to push a button or, if the Fortecstar can control one, a DiSeqC switch.

Use a Diseqc 2x1 switch. Or get a 4 way, and save two inputs for future expansion.

hi sorry it took so long to reply, have got a 4 way diseqc switch 2.0 ?? the fortec star book says compatability diseqc 1.0 + 1.2 is this unit ok ?? also do i need to go into the set up and turn diseqc on ?? and then just retune for the two dishes ?? also i have since lost bbc streams x 6 have these changed frequency ??

Yes, it's Backwards Compatible.

Yes, you need to assign DiSEqC Ports in the Receiver menus

Yes, those Channels have moved recently (qv Forum Search, or eg Flysat)

thanks for your info tryed to retune and it only comes up with 4 of the streams ??? does this mean i need to programme in some tps ??

Four of which streams?, more explanation is required as to what you have done but in much more detail
