Hi,

I am looking for an old analogue satellite receiver to see the final glimpses of the signal before they all disappear. I have a working Pace Prima but no remote control. If someone has either a remote control for a Pace (I think remotes worked across a range of models) or an old satellite receiver, let me know!

i may well have a pace remote somewhere -- it could take some time to locate --
i will get back to you on this :)

Think all of my Prima remotes have gone, but I did get a oneforall working with a Prima box a while back.

hi -
that was quite easy i found one almost straight away -- its an MSS series but i,m sure they work ok on all the
pace boxes --

There's something in my mind thinking that the MSS series remotes may not work with all the receivers, and I can't recall if it was the Apollo or Prima models where they had half accepting MSS remotes and the other half needing their own remotes... :confused:
 
I don't think the MSS remotes do work with the Prima - I had the exact same situation a few months back in sourcing a remote for a Prima I obtained from eBay.

Get hold of a One4All URC7540 if possible (that's what I got, again from eBay!) then if you go on the One4All website you can find the right programming codes for it. Works perfectly!

Actually, I am stupid. It's not a Prima - it's MSS100. Those bathroom scales look alikes... For some reason, I thought it was a Prima...:-ohcrap
 
Got the remote from Nelson and it's working perfectly :D Thanks, Nelson!

Tuned in to AB3 and saw colours! :D Actually, it's a crawly black and white picture :( Not sure why it's crawly (it's not "sparklies")- I guess my TV doesn't know what to do with the SECAM signal. Cannot believe that in this day and age, there are still no multi-standard TV sets sold in the UK....

Canal+ is in clear at the moment, but will check it out when it's scrambled!
 
I know those crawlies well - but if you have a DVD Recorder, daisy chain it so the SECAM signal passes though the Recorder and you should find it transcodes nicely. An old trick, but a good one.
 
Unfortunately, no DVD recorder.... :( Seeing a live scrambled analogue signal for the first time in many years! Ahhh, brings back memories... What exactly was wrong with analogue??

Aside from the fact that it uses a whole transponder, where several digital channels could exist, very little.;)
