I seen it advertised as being shown in select cinemas, the cinema in question was "Empire", any of you feed hunters found it?

Your probably right Paul, my dad says somebody had leaked the episode online, bell-ends, any how, loved it, was just hoping to watch it in better HD.

Listening to the news on the way into work, it seems that the leaked episode probably came from one of Russia's state TV channels.

But away from all the hype, was anyone else left a bit dissatisfied about this episode and the series in general? It was hugely stylish but there really seemed to be very little substance in the stories. There were huge inconsistencies in the plot(s) - I mean the gun-to-the-face closing scene of episode 2 was completely ignored in episode 3.
 
I agree Paul.Too many longuers in this episode. I wanted them to just get on with it, each set piece where the sister was setting up life-or-death situations went on for far too long.
90 minutes stretched it, one hour would've been fine.
This series wasn't a patch on the earlier ones.
 
I still enjoyed it but the plot wasn't as mind f"*k as per earlier series. While we're on the subject of Sherlock, does anybody have a fave of the classic period set ones, actor wise I mean. Speaking for myself I think Jeremy Brett's Granada TV outings were the best, my dad always says the Peter Cushing films were good but....nah me no like Peter in them as Sherlock if am 100% honest.
 
Basil Rathbone for me. The definitive Holmes. The Hound of the Baskervilles his best effort. (I'm showing my age).
 
Basil Rathbone certainly set the style for Holmes despite the not very faithful rendition compared to the books. Nigel Bruce played Watson as far too bumbling though.

I'm going to modify the title of this thread slightly to reflect the reviews now taking place.
 
Yes, the Rathbone films were flag-waving a lot in the ones made during WW2. Propaganda speeches at the films' ends.
 
Peter Cushing, Christopher Plummer and then Robert Downey Junior , though I have never seen the ITV/Brett series.
