Do we have any other petrolheaded members?

Satellites reception and general AV technology is one of my favorite hobbies, but my real passion is cars, can't beat them...

What do you drive?

I have a 15yr old peugeot 306, a 'Dimma', basically a replica of the 306 rally car, one of around 15 genuine Dimmas released in the UK. It's got a fair bit of power under the bonnet and I love the looks.

A scruffy old beat up black T plate Fiesta. Its a workhorse and living up a farm track boy does it look it most of the time.

It doesnt look particularly pretty but it gets us from A to B.

Here it is during the heavy snow last winter :D

My Nissan Micra really isn't worth photographing, but like AS, it gets me from A to B. Essential as there is no public transport locally. It has been transferred onto French plates though obviously it's RHD. Handy if you meet a combine coming the other way and have to hug the ditch!!

Among others, I've owned an MGB and an MGB GT and a 5 series BMW that was a horrible light metallic green. Favourite car was definitely my first, a red Mini which I ran into the ground, literally!! I could do Fred Flintstone impressions at the end as the floor had rusted away. You should think of joining our F1 Fantasy League next year Andy.

I used to be a petrolhead a long time ago when I used to go rallying. I spent enough to buy a house that way! £2000 for a twin cam Vauxhall engine in 1978?

Nowadays I'm a dieselhead, more obsessed with mpg than mph. In a constant effort to reach (and breach) 50mpg.

Nice car Andy.

I used to own a 306 GTi-6. It was a great car and served me well for over 4 years.

I have now got a Volvo S60 T5. More room for the kids in the back and a bigger boot.

Funnily enough mine is actually a diesel, so I suppose that makes me a dieselhead... It started out life with a 155bhp petrol engine but now has a 2.2 HDI with BMW turbo and fuel pump and Mercedes AMG injectors so pushes out around 235bhp and 400lb/ft torque...

The T5s have fantastic engines but I have no need for a sensibly sized motor yet!

I've had 3 306s but never a GTI-6, had a couple of DTurbos and fell in love with them, especially the older of the two, then got a 3 series BMW but had to buy this when it came up for sale.
