Im a domestic TV engineer and am thinking of making the jump across to commercial work - can anyone tell me if they have done similar and if so if it was an easy transition. Many thanks

I wouldn't know, but as my old grand-dad used to say, "you don't know how hot the water is, until you've dipped your toe in it!"

That is very true - although a burnt toe can be very painful indeed!

If there's anyone out there that does know, here is the Commercial job description if it helps.

I did, I have never worked for sky by the way i would never be associated with those lot of sky in house installers,

I learned all i know from myself i got my first sat system when i was 12 years old,

Commercial work is better due to it being higher paid work that is the best thing what sort of stuff are you looking to do,

there is good money in v-sat these days

Let me know give me a pm i will give you my email or msn and we can have a chat

Not a rigger , but I would be worried about the commission only limit of working with them.

£40k OTE suggests there is not much that you can fall back on if work trails off. You are at the mercy of the company providing you with work.

If you have had a good look at what you presently take home after various expenses and you are happy to give it all up for a claim of £40k then good luck, it is still £200 per day before tax.
