Anyone else see this ?

Last night there were large clear patches of sky over the North West ...
Approx 12:30 maybe a little later ..I was atop my step ladders placing the dielectric plate in Christina (Alcoa pf) ..
It took me about 10 mins fiddling ..cos it was fairly dark ...
The dish was at 1 West so I was looking roughly North ...
From behind me (due South ) ..and over my head _something_ streaked accross the sky and dissapeared out of view behaind the roof of my house ...but was visible for about 1 maybe 2 seconds ..
Too fast to be a plane ..
Possibly a weather sat ..catching the light as it went ..
Possibly a shooting star ...OR ..maybe a bit of left over debris from Phobos Grunt ...burning up on re-entry.
I didn't imagine it ...and made a clear streak in the firmament as it passed ...
If I saw it for a second with my limited field of view ...I assume it would be visible for at least 4 seconds with a clear vista South to North..
Anyone ??

The space station was due to go overhead at 7.20pm so it couldn't have been that and would have taken considerably more than four seconds, perhaps the station emptied the contents of bilges whilst going past? although 5 hours in freefall would be a very long time unless the material was bouncing off the stratosphere?:-away

Certainly not discounting that possibility m8 ...
But whatever it was did only last mere seconds ..before totally vanishing ...but then bilges being emptied would appear to 'evaporate' quickly ...and in the direction of travel ...making it look like the trail of a moving solid object ..
As you say though ..something about the 5 hour time delay makes it 'feel' wrong ..

Could of been a stray Topper ...but with a poor sense of direction ...as I would have expected its origin in the EastSouth East as it were...

Almost certainly a bright slow moving meteor.

Satellite passes are typically 3 or 4 minutes horizon to horizon.

Ive seen similar meteors over the years, and on rare occasions you get an ionised trail visible for a couple of seconds as well.

If it's really bright meteorite which seems to have sparks coming off it it's known as a fireball. I've seen a few of those over the years.

Seems I misread the search results shown and peak was August last year in any case
