We're with Primus, and when you call them up, you get through to a call centre in the Prestige Building in Burnleh, some of whom the mother actually used to work with too when she worked in a call centre in Harlesyke...
The only issue with Primus is the lack of line features (such as caller ID, voicemail and whatnot), and the ADSL can be a bit slow (today we seem to be getting a whopping 2Mbps, faster than usual), and initial ordering can be a bit of a PITA, but otherwise it's pretty reliable when it gets going, despite the flak they get on the MSE forum...
Repairs to our broken (on 2 occasions) line arranged through (carried out by Openreach, who aren't BT, even though they are owned by BT, weirdly
) them were done within a couple of days, so they're nice to deal with...
