Nothing here Cocker. Fairly heavy cloud cover, so I might try again if it clears up.

Don't know if it's 5A but it's definitely 30.5ºE. There's other stuff there too.

  • 12526V2502
  • 12537V2675
  • 12592V3882 NIT: Tandberg 30.5 E

There are a few other spikes but I can't get lock on them.

I've just checked 12516 but nothing here, however I posted the following to another forum yesterday.

"What do others in the UK get from 30.5°E please? I've just scanned it and am getting an Arabic feed on 12507 V 3000 'DEFAULT' 50% S+N on my SS2. I've checked the other pan arab transponders but can see nothing else so I'm surprised this one is so strong."

The tp 12516 H 6154 3/4 still on air

Hi all,

I have been reading through a few of the older threads in this section and I came upon this one... I remember reporting a flurry of signals (on JKF) from Arabsat 5A at 30.5°E on the dates listed below...

Dec 11 2010
Dec 14 2010
Dec 18 2010
Jan 12 2011
Feb 09 2011

During this time period I found/reported signals on the following frequencies...

12.507V [3000] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.511V [2200] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.514V [1953] 3/4 DVB-S2 8PSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.538V [2894] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.624V [2310] 5/6 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.656V [1660] 5/6 DVB-S2 8PSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.709V [2990] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]
12.716V [2600] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]

I have been scanning this satellite regularly since those signal report dates (above) and I have found that only two of those frequencies have remained strong enough (intermittently) for reception since then... they are...

12.507V [3000] 3/4 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]

ID: TV [VPID 0100/APID 0110/PPID 0100] **active ATM**
ID: DEFAULT [VPID 0033/APID 0034/PPID 0041]
ID: DEFAULT [VPID 0200/APID 1010/PPID 0200]
ID: MAJD 1 [VPID 0033/APID 0034/PPID 0041]

12.624V [2310] 5/6 DVB-S QPSK [Pan-Arab Beam]

Medi1 TV National [VPID 0508/APID 0556/PPID 8190] **Receiving ATM**
Medi1 Radio National [VPID 0000/APID 0257/PPID 0257] **Receiving ATM**

I have attached a file with pictures (taken today) of feeds/channels on these two frequencies...

PS
Ignore the clock time on the 12.507V feed pictures... this feed always tends to send the clock doolally...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hi again william-1,

Yes, Medi1 TV has eluded me also over the last few days... and unfortunately... I can't test Al Wehda TV at the moment mate... total cloud cover here and also slight drizzle... good catch though... :-righton

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Still working here changed receivers to TM6900HD+ Super using DiSEqC 1.2 104cm Gib,
Al Wehda TV 12618V 2222:84% signal 47% quality,
On the TM5200 USB 12616V 2215 with USALS DiSEqC 1.3 slightly out of calibration as expected with this receiver but good signals:88% signal 51% quality.

Hi again william-1,

There's another TP on this satellite which is very frustrating...

12.656V [1660] 5/6 DVB-S2 [8PSK] MPEG-4 [Pan-Arab Beam]

MTV Alloubnaniya World [VPID 0100/APID 110/PPID 0100] FTA

This is a DVB-S2 signal... so there's no erratic signal fluctuation... my current signal quality on this TP is 55% but the weather's not great ATM... I've had the signal quality up to a constant 63% on a good day... but still no signal lock...

I have attached a picture...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

hi - even though the weather is awfull here and i,m a lot further north - i thought i would have a look anyway

medi tv --- will scan in but not lock
Al Wehda --- is stable with a reasonable signal
and a stronger signal showing as 12510 V 2210 --- DVB - Server -- a good solid picture no breakup
when i did a blind search just now with the vantage

cheers nelson.b.

During a blind scan & selecting SR <3.7M under> found 12624 V DVB-S/MPEG-2 2310 5/6 Medi 1 TV Nation has returned in my data base but no picture atm,
Using the blind scan on the TM5200USB managed to nudge the signal a bit higher @ 30.8 east with USALS,
Tweaked the Lnb 1 mm further back & got the quality up to 54% on 12618V 2222 / 2215 still no lock on 12616V 2215 despite the quality bar flashing on blue for a couple of sec.
