It's the first time i see a satellite Badr 8 taking so long to introduce its new services!
Do we have information of this delay? Since May almost 7 months now ... from launch!
It will start on 1/1/2024 officially, according to Arabsat's report on its official website.

It will start on 1/1/2024 officially, according to Arabsat's report on its official website.
This essay translated from Arabic to English by Google:

As part of its support for the expansion of satellite technology in Africa, the Arab Satellite Communications Organization - Arabsat, announced its official sponsorship of the twenty-fifth session of the AfricaCom 2022 conference, the largest African telecommunications, media and technology event in the region.

The AfricaCom 2022 conference will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, during the period from November 8 to 10, after a two-year hiatus due to the Corona pandemic, when the conference was held virtually and remotely.

This event is expected to receive more than 10,000 exhibitors, in addition to company managers and decision-makers from around the world.

On this occasion, Engineer Al-Humaidi Al-Anazi, CEO of Arabsat, said: “We are very pleased today to be the official partner of this huge event that brings together expertise from all over the world for one main goal, which is to continue shaping the digital transformation of the continent. This partnership fits perfectly with Arabsat’s strategy to meet the evolving requirements of our customers on the African continent, especially since we recently opened a specialized sales unit to meet their needs.”
He added: “This partnership will increase our determination to provide the best services to our customers to maintain our leadership in the market.”

During this meeting, Arabsat will review its latest technical developments and the services of its new satellite Badr 8, which will be launched at the beginning of next year as its latest product equipped with advanced technology that can serve customers more and provide more comprehensive coverage of the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa.

It is noteworthy that the AfricaCom event has, throughout the year, paved the way for facilitating business, agreements and a range of development developments, as well as attracting key decision makers from around the world.

Still on MENA Beam, I have signal here in Iraq
Could very well be, I don't have any reception anymore. I've received the signal for the first the other day, could have either been test or unexplained increase in power from the current transponder.

i read on the French forum that, when a sat inaugurates "new" tp 's,,the signal is often stronger in the 1st days to facilitate retuning & then they return to normal strength... that could be the case here.Link to Badr 8 (last message,in French)
Badr means 26E btw

Absolutly no, it's a joke !! "when a sat...a return to normal strength", it will stay at the same power as previous in the beginning of the launch !
