I understand that the Tyne Tees channels have been amalgamated, and gone to 1N. Which means I have lost the SKY+ facility. Are all the ITV, ITV+1 channels going to 1N?
I am at 37' 52 N 24'50E slightly East of the Greek mainland and received 2N & 2S on a 1.2 dish. Is anyone in a position to tell me if 1N can be received from here and if so on what size dish?

hello my friend
I have tried to 3,05 cm dish from crete and I had no success in 1N for the uk beam my friend
in patra one friend try with 2,3 farmal paravolik dish and have signal to all frequency of 1N
if you want to learn Greek forum will be reports from Athens to see what course they want there to be able to make comparison

That's interesting, that has to be one of the most fringe reports for 1N I've read about.

Thank you, I am only 149Km East and 49Km South from Patra, unfortunately my Greek is not so good for anything technical. However if your friend receives 1N with no problem I should be able to do so with a 3m dish. Do you know if they receive Astra 2D as well. I would be grateful if you could confirm.

No point chasing after 2D as everything has moved over to 1N.

Reminds me of the dark days when FilmNet moved from Astra at 19.2E to Thor 1 in April 1997, which was unreceivable in the UK without a large-ish dish.

I was thinking that if they were able to receive 2D previously then 1N should not be an issue.

Not necessarily, in Helsinki I was receiving half the Astra 2D channels on a 1.8m dish but now nothing from 1N. Astra 1N has a faster drop off to the east, even a few km can make all the difference.

Yup eventually.

What has happened to all the ITV1 +1 variations? Yesterday evening I was zapping between the versions when the local news was on and I could only see four different versions with some being double (Wales, Scottish, Granada and another one). Or was I already half asleep U-zzz

All ITV regions appear to have +1's now, except Border & Channel Islands. Theres been some juggling of the ITV1 +1s today - one of the Meridians has changed to Anglia & one of the Wales to Westcountry

I'm still a little amased about the popularity of timeshift channels in the UK. Here there was just one timeshift channel and that channel ceased earlier this year. PVR and catchup services (On Demand) are really booming here and quiet popular.
