Hi there
Now that we have lost analogue here in the wilds of central France I need to look at hooking up to TNTSat using one of their boxes.Problem is that they operate from Astra1 on 19.2. My existing setup onto my trusty Humax Foxsat is pointing at 28.2. Am I right that a decent twin LNB is all the hardware that I need rather than setting up a new dish? Can a twin LNB handle the 9 degrees difference?
thanks
Tom

By twin, I think you mean Monoblock? (ie Two heads in one moulding).

The answer is no.

They are generally for 6 deg spacing - although there are ones now available for lesser spacings too.

What you need is a multi-LNB bracket with two separate LNBs.

Should work fine on your 90cm dish.

Here's one I installed near Chartres for my Nephew, Astra 28.2, Astra 19.2 and Hotbird 13 East, using a bolt on offset bracket and a closeup of a 28.2E and 19.2 East here in Berkshire on a Triax 54cm dish with Triax offset mount.

I know Chartres well - excellent bar there called the Acadamie de la biere next to the cathedral that we fall out of 4 or so times a year. Back on topic. Whilst searching for a suitable bracket I noticed that they all seem to assume a rectangular section arm. Mine (bought from Lidl a few years back) is of circular section. So next dilemna is finding one that wil fit my arm. Any suggestions?

General offset multi bracket should do it and fit most dishes. There is also an adjustable monobloc but not sure of the maximum spacing.

Got a linkie, SM? Sounds like an interesting idea.

Edit: Vaguely remember them being mentioned some time ago - search brings up eg ESX521U adjustable 4 to 12 deg.

Might be worth a punt.

Can't find an EU supplier offhand - nor a price!

Yes, that's it. In saying that, there would certainly be more room for adjustment with separate LNb's though... but an option ;)

Depending on what LNB your using theres no need to worry about which shape of arm you have on the dish as the generic one pictured by rolfw just clamps on to the excess LNB neck space at the back.

Yep spot on and as you have to obtain a second LNB, get yourself an Inverto Black Ultra which has a long neck and easily facilitates the extra neck clamp, at least two of our forum advertisers stock them. The bracket: Ebay item 260841871982, have bought several of these brackets from this chap, very reliable, unfortunately none of our supporting advertisers appear to stock this type of bracket.

Octagon do one, Southern satellite sells it, have seen it in the flesh, but doubt it would give enough spacing for 19 and 28 on a 90cm.

Thanks Ghostleader. I assumed that the bracket fixed directly onto the arm. So it looks like this is the way forward, with a Black Ultra.
Thanks to all for their advice.

I've also used this eBay seller and that multi-LNB clamp. I'm very happy with mine on a 90cm dish looking at 1W, 5E and 9E with 3 black ultras.

The guy's quality, I get my Inverto Black Ultra's from him, I notice though he has no singles listed at the mo.
