Hi
I am located in Israel and I want to install a dish for the Astra 1m.
I am rather new in the satellite business but as far as I understand the wide beam I can receive with rather a small dish, my question is which dish will I need to receive the European beam?
Thanks!
Eran

Forget the European beam - you will need a very big dish indeed..

I understand.
In your opinion it will like minimum 4.5 m dish or even more?

As AS says it is very difficult to say being such a new bird and no distance or fringe reception reports available. So the only piece of information that at this stage anyone can work with is the 1M theoretical footprint
As you can see approaching Israel the 'isobars' for want of a better word are packed tightly together which indicated a change in reception every 50 to 100 miles or less. If you take the distance of your location to the last shown level and approximate the number of intervals you can then count them and read off, you appear to be certainly looking at 3.5 mtrs, of course the reality can be very different so until someone tries various dish sizes nobody will know for sure.
