Giorgo, 11041V is on Eurobird 2 @25.5E carrying a number of radio channels.

Is this as strong field strengh-wise as 11127V? If so I presume you get a similar SNR on C4's Txp?
 
Hard to tell as Im using two different receivers. - C4HD on the Duo and the weird 11165H on the 7020

As the Duo doesnt have any signal strength bars I cant do a direct comparison with 11165H until a channel of some sort appears then I can get a strength off the channel info bar.

Hence my regular vitriolic comments about the shortcomings of the E2 s/w on the Duo.......

With my setup here in central southern norway 11127V strength 72,,, quality 100.

hummy 2000hd 120cm motorised dish 0.2 lnb.

no signal 11165/11171.

Can't you use the Satfinder option under Service Searching?

On a slightly different note, just seen this:

Looks like Desmond is to launch Channel 5+1 in early December, presume made possible by 1N. Now I wonder if this means they'll be taking another transponder to replicate all the ad regions or just send a single feed of London's (Region 1)?

Do Sky STB's support lower FEC's than 5/6 (7/8 and 9/10?). If C5 went for this on their 1N migrated transponder then they'd fit another couple of SD regions in.

Using the satfinder function on the Duo I get these results

C4HD on 11127V DVB-S2
SNR 91%
AGC 17%
BER 0



11165H 1500
SNR 0
AGC 99%

11165 is so strong it doesnt matter what I put into the parameters it stays at 0/99% (Any fec, any polarity, even changing it to dvb-s2 & 8psk....!)
 
Thanks for all the infos about 11171 vs 11165 - did not want to stir up fights, sorry for that - until now i was under the impression the small bandwith, thus squeezing more than one frequency on one tp was gone with analogue and it was not possible with digital signals to put various frequencies on one tp. Learned something again :-)

I would not trust the Automatic Gain Control reading at all, it tends to go to 99% (of whatever unit of measure) once tuned to low bit-rate transponders. SNR is what matters really, in dB preferebaly.
On the note of Satfinder function, I agree completely. It would be some much more elegant if we could user the Channel Search menu, tune in to a transponder, see the strength reading and then scan for services, but no... E2 devs think differently unfortunately.

Split frequency tp's have been happening for years on 16E and even on Eurobird 1 at 28E. For a while there was even a a split analogue / digital tp on 13E - it disappeared when the Hungarian analogue channel shut down a couple of years ago.

I think it was setup

Duna analogue
Duna II Autonomia digital with a sr of 3333
