Hello,

Has anyone had problem's with the signal for Astra 28.2, the quality level has decreased from 80% to 40%?

Can you increase the quality level by tweaking the LNB?

Your motor may be slightly off, normally the skew should be set by the motor movement.

It shouldn't fluctuate in London, it is in the centre of the footprint, with a large dish.

Are you sure that there is nothing in the way REBEL?

rolfw,

live in Harrow, the dish is 90cm, there are no obsticles, the signal for 28.2 has been very strong, 1W is fairly strong at around 75%

Don't really know what to suggest, if the dish is perfectly aligned on your Due South (near enough 1W) and the latitude on the motor is correct with a plumb mast, then there is no reason why you shouldn't receive a strong signal on 28.2 East. What are staellites like Turksat at 42E and Hispasat at 30W?

LOL, yes, legend in my own lunchtime. :-lmao

It has to be a combination of the motor elevation and dish declination then REBEL, what elevation setting do you have on the motor?

I think the latitude is 0.0 and the longitude is 51.3, what I might do is switch dishes, fortunately there are two 90cm dishes, if I've still got a problem,
'I'll be back'!

Carry on being a :) 'Legend'

P.S. is it possible to recieve transmissions from PanAmSat 9 (58.0W) in the U.K.?

Well it's 49db on the Europe beam which a 90cm dish should receive, not much on it, but you would need a very clear view of the horizon as it is only 10 degrees elevation from your location. :).

You really need to consider starting from scratch, are those your actual longitude and latitude according to multimap.co.uk?

Does the motor have a latitude and elevation scale?

Couldn't remember whether they had both, so one side will read 51.5 or thereabouts and the other side, the elevation scale will read 32 degrees.

If you use the multimap settings in the receiver settings and then send the dish to 1W, then by moving the motor on the mast and dish elevation to peak 1W, you should be spot on.

Rolf,

I think one of these applies, not sure which one,
hxxp://www.stab-italia.com/eng.pdf
they suggest bending the dish without unscrewing bolts, interesting,

I'm not getting 42E, 39E, 4W and 7W

many thanks
