Astra 28 In Kuwait

I think you may need to go bigger than 2.4m to make sure you get the European beam once Astra 2e/f/g come into service.
 
today i noticed that the signal is higher that yesterday . so i did a new search and the result was unexpected

i don't think that i should get a bigger dish once they move to 2e/f/g
because on the maps 2d covers a wider area than 1n ,but from reception reports people say that 1n beam is stronger than 2d
and some can get 1n in Europe with good signal. and smaller dish.

Icecube, I need someone to setup a 8 ft dish for me in Kuwait for Astra 2a,b (sky uk), plz help.
 
Hmm. Next year a lot of 2A,2B stuff will be transferred to 2F etc.

Is it worth installing this dish when it might soon prove to be undersized?
 
Be aware Astra 2A & 2B will be removed from service in the next year and then the European beams of the replacement satellites will go much less further east than at present.

At that point you will almost certainly lose any chance of getting the 28E signals
 
Nice job, icecube, really impressive! Did you buy the dish in Kuwait or you shipped it from Europe? I am trying to get CM 2.4m or 1.8m in Bahrain with no success. I am aiming at 23.5 E and 28.2 E, so you will really help me if you can post some reception details on 23.5 wide beam with your dish when you have time.You said 2.4m is 1000 KD is it available there? Once again congratulations!
 
You need to get up to date information about reception possibilities first dzmei

Things are changing at 28E

2B is already out of service at 28E, replaced by 1N

1N will go out of service probably late this year when 2E comes into service.
 
Yes, you are right, things are changing, but I think it will be interesting for everybody how the new birds are received with this equipment, which is in order to get up to date with the reception possibilities, isn't it? :) If someone already posted that, my apologioes. I am also kindly asking for reception details with his equipment on 23.5e, which is still in service :)

Far distant reception will be reduced - the transmission beam drop offs are much greater than on the older satellites. Thats already obvious from the limited info we have.

Theres also the problem that Asra 2E carries a middle eastern beam so whichever frequencies are used for that will eliminate any chance whatsoever of getting the European stuff.
