I'm a British Expat living in Munich, Germany...
Having only had the Sat & Digibox since February, it's quite frustrating that after only three months i've lost the Beeb again...
I've been trying much of what has been posted here but to no avail!

Box is a Grundig GDS3000 and a 60cm dish
Up to now picture was perfect all day (although no ITV)..will be speaking to my sat specialist on Monday ref a bigger dish for 2D, but regarding sat location i am limited with space and have a bad feeling that bigger dish is not possible.

Regarding the short term...
Thanks Donone !....following your post I have at least managed to set my transponder default to 11.720 H (before after trying "add Channel" it kept springing back to the old one)

However...this has still brought no joy...on the newly added channels, i just get something like "No further listings currently available"
Can anyone help?

:confused

Sorry to exasperate you so DonOne,but if I follow your instructions after pressing Services and 4, I then have from 1-7 to choose from,-pressing 0 does nothing.

That should work, try it this way:

Services

System Setup

0,1,Select (there is no option 0, this is the installer's menu code, press them one after the other)

Default Transponder.

The last Key press "2", is where you can change the default transponder, but just incase everything goes awry, remember what was in there before. :)

Can Anyone help please ?
I am in Malta and until last week got all sky chnls. except ITV and Hallmark
I have 1.8 offset and Pan.30
I have tried to get the BBC back on 2A and have tried all the suggestions from this and about 4 other forums.
I Have re set before and after finding new channels deleted the other channels and started again, reset the defualt trans to the BBC Scotland freq. (That is where my card is registered), tried man tunning in installer setup and yet it still won't come back. All I get is No Sat Signal.
I have added other channels ie Channel 4 for about 5 regions and they all work perfectly.
I still get BBC parliment on 508? (Great!)
960 is BBC London and of course I can't get that either.
Can anyone help me as it would appear that the BBC are not still on 2A. I know it is only for a couple of days but it's better than nothing.
Thanks
Dutch

Hi.
I live in Madrid (Spain). I have a Panasonic 30, with a 1.2mt Cannel Master dish and a 0.6 Televes LNB.
My problem is that I have lost BBC, and I've never been able to watch ITV. I have a friend living not far from here who can. I have tried to change the default transponder but it always reverts back to the previous set up. I have also followed the explanations given here, to no avail. And still, I see people living as far down as Marbella with the same equipment as me, who seem to be able to pick up 2D.
What can I do?
Thank you very much for your help.

Option '0' on the Set-Up menu is the 'secret' installers menu.
When you press '0' nothing changes but you have to press 1 straight after to get the installers menu. Option 2 then allows you to change the default transponder. 11720 is on satellite Astra 2A south which should be receivable in the southern region. It also contains the original signals for BBC.

On this page (13) of this thread.
http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=471&perpage=15&pagenumber=13

It explains that by adding one of the BBC channels from this satellite and then going back to channel 101 the signal should be receivable for the next few days.

Can't test this myself at the moment as I can get the 2D signal where I am this weed-end.

Hi Donone,
You mention that 11720 should be receivable in the Southern Region...Is this likely to be different for SE Germany?
Have done what you said with the Transponder..but still no joy adding channels!..still no picture

Hi all ... I am new to this forum and have joined to try and find out a way to get my BBC back. Located in Spain (Valencia way)

I have a 2 mtr. dish 0.6 LNB and a Panasonic TUDSB30 box. It receives ITV no problem but BBC went off last Thursday. I have set the box to 11.720 and added BBC channels but to no avail. Any ideas.

Also the first 3 movie channels always seem to go off early evening 6.30 to 7.00 ish then come back on later ... is this normal for fringe sat. signals?
Someone told me I need a 2.4 mtr. dish.

thanks in advance

Just one more question, what do you mean when you say your default is 11.720H

I changed my default transponder to 11.720H going to the "services menu" clicking the following keys: Services->4->0->1->Select (you wil not have visual feedback of your keypresses until the last Select key)

In the services menu select the "Default Transponder" option and input 11.720H as the default transponder (look at the screen shot of my previous post).

I think that if the original default transponder is visible on your location (it is located on Astra 2A North Beam and it is not visible on my location with my dish size of 1.2mt), your DigiBox can automatically switch the default transponder to the original one and this can compromise the effectiveness of the solution I described on the previous post.

Hi Palmer

Just one Q. the frequencie 11.720 is on Astra 2D or an other Astra Sat.?
Because if the 11.720 it's not on 2D it's no point in changing the Default only for few days, the problem is to know:

HOW BIG THE DISH MUST BE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE ITV2 ITV1 AND BBC

CAN ANYONE IN ITALY LET US KNOW IN YOU RECEIVE ITV1 & 2
AND HOW BIG IS YOUR DISH? and where about in Italy

THANKS:confused

Regarding the ALPS 0.7db LNB and Panasonic DSB30 digibox issue, I had the same problem even here in the UK - no Astra 2D channels even with 60%+ quality.

Changing the LNB to a different one (Invacom) fixed the problem.

Thanks

In the last few days I controlled my sistem and even mesured the actual size of my dish: Bologna,Italy, Emmeesse dish,125 cm. Amstrad decoder DRX 100 ,Sharp LNB 0,6-about 25m of cable.BBC channels good,I had only few second the first night of "dizzy" pictures so I discovered that something had changed ITV ,sometimes problems after 10or11 at night especially on ITV 2 or on ITV 1 default (Yorkshire) .ITV London is better,so if I want to tape something at night I have to remember this. Two days ago I taped Midsumer Murders on ITV Yorkshire ,and everything was ok for 90% of the time,in the last 10 minutes the problems started and we worried a bit about the possibility to know WHO DID IT? Well Here in the hills near modena I have been getting the BBC2 regional stuff on the 960's number which I believe are on the 10803H frequency and these seem to have the same evening fade pattern as my ITV on the 10832H and 10891H with my 1m dish. Still 'no signal on the main BBC's on 10773H though! My installer is coming tommorow afternoon with a 1.2m dish and we will mess around with the LNB skew which I beleive should be -17° for my location. I will let you know how I get on
