You have no chance whatsoever of getting 2D in Egypt with a tiddly 2.4m dish.

You are looking at nearer 5-7m :-rofl2

Also remember there are new satellites coming in the next few years - and they will have Middle Eastern spotbeam coverage - NOT of the UK channels but almost certainly Arabic language services :D

The Middle East spots will totally destroy all reception of whatever UK channels are on the same UK spotbeam frequencies

hello,
We have tried a 4 meter prime here in naples italy and its no go here for astra 2 d.
Just some information

Strange, you are so close to that footprint above and can't get it on a 4m,when we can get it in West of Cyprus on a 2.7m. Or was it a 4m mesh dish ?

hello,
the 4 meter dish was solid irte.
2 sections.
lnb was the best .
there was 2 tecks me and amother better than me.
he builds microwave transmitters from nothing and etches his owne boards.
he builds tv transmitters and fixes tv stations here in the area.
there was not even a bump on astra 2d.
there are some people in rome with a 3.8 meter that get it but that is 200 km north of naples.
there is no one south of that point that receive it.
the side lobes are not constant in this part of europe.
ralph

Did put c120 flange lnb's with feedhorn in mind?
if i have inverto black pro twin c120 flange lnb with invacom feedhorn will it work?

No - you have already been told what sized dish you will need.

also dishes more than 240 cm in size are not authorized in egypt and must be licensed just the way you license a gun !!!

Yes we're aware of dish size restrictions in Egypt, as we have other members living there, you will unfortunately have to live without 2D reception.

You are out of luck then arent you?

There's no need to shout at us. It's not our fault!

Given that 2D is out of your sight then if you're absolutely determined to et the channels on it you should investigate the various Internet solutions.

hello, satellite is out of the question in your area. sling box may be the choice.
there are providers in the uk that will sling bbc 1 and 2 itv and free view on astra 2 d if your internet down load is fast enough.
you have to do a test on your pc and see if it is good.
they will do a test for you.
you down load sling softwere on your pc and can connect the pc to a tv and test the quality.
if your pc during the test will flow the sling picture at 1.5 meg or better you are good to go.
the price for the service may run 30 to 40 pounds per month.

ha ha:) you dont know how expensive is the internet service in egypt !
The average price of 1 mbit is 26.6$:-Nooo:eek: in egypt while the world wide average is 5$
HA HA HA 30 to 40 egyption pounds YOU R DREAMING !!!
This way licensing a 5 meter dish and affording the costs of the dish and its installation would be a really better and A LOT CHEAPER SOLUTION ha ha!!!!!

Ralph is probably referring to UK pounds not Egyptian pounds.. According to xe.com

40UKP = 390 Egyptian pounds :-rofl2

Well if you cant get the satellite and you wont pay for iptv via broadband there are only 2 things left for you

1) do without

2) move to western Europe :-lmao
