A good quality 90cm dish should do it.

If you are offered a 90cm for €30 it is probably not the best quality and will not perform as well as a better quality dish. Good makes that I have used are Gilbertini, Fracarro, Triax, Visiosat, Hirschmann, plus some others, but unfortunately there is a lot of un-named garbage floating around.

Depending on which receiver you intend to use, it may be worth motorising the dish, then you will have access to a lot more than the British channels. :)

Thanks Rolfw,
that's what don corleone offered me yesterday.
a 90 dish, brown in colour for 32 euro. So I better start looking for one of the names you said. What about Penta, is it just a matter of style or does it's different shape have a reason.

The Penta is my favourite at the moment, well built and performs well. It is effectively a 1m dish with parts of the outer rim cut off, I was quite sceptical at first, but having used them for a while, I am very impressed.

Your receiver should be fine for a motor, you could try swinging your dish around to Astra 28.2, as there is a report of someone in Milan receiving the 2D channels with a 65cm, if you can get partial reception with that, you will be guaranteed with a Penta. :)

thanks a lot Rolfw. I'm going to do some reading first, because I saw just now on some italian forum some contrary views about the penta.
And through google I found only a 85 dish.

cheers e ciao

Yes, it is called the Penta 85, I'd be interested to hear the contrary views, as my meter doesn't mislead, Satelliteman has done a side by side test with a Triax 88cm and the Penta comes out better.

Hi there,

I have recently had installed a Fracarro Penta 85cm with a Ivacom QDH-301 Quad 0.3db Uni LNB in Parma Ovest, setup works fantastic with a Pace 2600CI. This setup will give you 24/7 on Astra2D in Torino

Ciao

well, one is saying that the shape gives less quality signal and another says, it gives a better better one.

I think it's better to listen to expert members. Who have experience with the penta.

Before, you told me that for Torino, I 'll need a 90 dish to watch Astra 28.2
Does the same size apply for the penta?

wow pietro, amazing as far as parma with a 85 dish. On the forums many complain that lower than milan and turin, you need a "Monster" on your balcony.
Is this because of the penta that you have a signal of 28.2 as far as parma?

Here's the dimensions, so whilst it is called an 85, the extreme dimensions are close to 1m.

Don't take my word for it, listen to Pietro1, he is on the ground in Italy and actually has a working dish. :) For a motor, just look for a Moteck sg2100.

definitely yes

I know people receiving 2D from Torino with a 70cm (even if not in bad weather conditions), Penta 85 is more than enough

Parma is much more southern and (expecially) eastern than Torino, Astra2D signal gets much weaker, from there a 150cm is required
