Rolfw one more question please.
Do I still need my monoblock dualfeed if I take a motorized Penta or a single lnb will be enough? I'll be switching mostly between 19.2 and 28.2
Or doesn't it make any difference what i'll put on a motorized dish.

Cheers

So pietro, securo ?

Salve,

Just make a note that you will recieve Astra2D 24/7 in fair weather with my setup, if the heavens open up, just like in the UK you will lose not only 2D but everything.

Try to position the dish as close to the decoder as possible, if you have a long cable run you will lose 3db per every 10mt of cable, this does not sound a lot but its the diff between being able to watch 2D from 7pm in the evening, also make sure that you also use Min CT100/CT125 Cable

The best known high gain decoder is the Pace 2600CI, otherwise the Pace DS430N, this is also very important factor along with the Ivacom QDH-301 Quad 0.3db

Ciao

You can't get a monobloc for 28.2 and 19.2, but in any case, you just need a single LNB if you are going to motorise the dish.

If you require instant channel switching, then using a second LNB on an offset bracket on a static dish may be preferable.

A 6dB Loss with the Penta 85cm in Torino should still be ok for all Astra2D, make sure that that you get a good enginner who knows how to adjust the skew on the LNB.

If you can see ITV4 after the instalation, then you should be ok on all Astra2D

Bear in mind that 30db per 100m loss is at 2Ghz, it is only 20 db or less at 1Ghz.

Rolfw, I found out that Dutch channels that I'm watching on 19.2 are also available on 23.5 (I have a Smart Card Canaal Digitaal).

So, you think it's possible to receive 28.2 and 23.5 with a Monoblock- dualfeed in combination with the Penta 85 here in Torino?

The higher the frequency the higher the loss, but as the Astra 2D channels after LNB conversion are transmitted along the cable at around 1 Ghz, the loss will not be 3db per 10m, but less than 2db per 10m. The comment was more addressed to Pietro1.:)

Inverto make a 4.5 degree monobloc, which would be ideal for those two satellites, not sure where you could get one from though.

Hi there,

I think that you main priority must be to ensure that Astra2D has the best LNB for the job, if you use a Mono Block LNB you will loose even more DB strengh.

The more complicated that you make the setup, there more chance that you will loose the Astra 2D transponders after 7pm and also the whole setup will require considerable more maintanance if it is motorised!

The only way I would even consider a Mono Block for Astra 2D in Torino is with a Minimum 120cm dish!

you think that's ok, or do you have another brand in mind?

The single Invacom SNH-031 LNB will work no problem in Torino, I upgraded my Single to a Quad, for the extra signal pulling power after 7pm on the Horizontal channels eg Itv1, 2, 3 & 4. The BBC channels on Vertical worked fine 24/7 on the Single LNB

For the small diff in cost, I would fit the Quad Invacom QDH-031

If you are using the Fracarro Penta with the 40mm Horn fitting, you need the QDH-301
