Cheers, guess Pietclock it's hard to be 100% confident that the 33MHz TP's were tested not knowing the footprint but looking at the 2F testing thread it does look like some differing reports were received for the same TP's, suspect of wide/spot switching. There was certainly wide/spot testing in the C band.

Prefer, you've missed 12480V (TP40) off that list + 11992H (TP9), thought 12285V had migrated too?

1280v still on air
here on mideast only with large 3.5 m can receiver north beam
11992h no signal here
12285v got signal not move to 2e yet

Yes, pretty sure those are all on 2A still.

12285V is odd, as it looks like a Sky transponder that didn't move.

maybe tonight astra 2a will be empty ?
new game of astra 1n also start

Can just about get it now. Must be an a.m. thing with my location because 2f was weaker earlier this morning also.

But, as for 12207v, only one of my Humax tuners can receive it with 70% strength and 20% quality. So picture is crap (heavily pixelated).

Gone again.

The "IPTV will solve all your ills brigade" are out in force: I've just "removed" (!!) a person who Registered here today for the sole purpose of Spamming our 2E Threads with his IPTV Service.

Fortunately it didn't get as far as open Forum.

Ohhhh... thats tricky stuff. Switching full power signals makes it very vulnerable to
failing coax relays. Having switches before the final amplification makes things easier.
Combiners are not necessary on every TP then. This assumes the TWT's are wideband and
linear which they hopefully are. Pure guesswork but narrowband combiners are often larger
than ones with wider bandwidth. I've opened some scrapped fancy coax relays and
the autopsy was "interesting".

Anyone got information on the RF system "layout" in these birds?

Edit - answer ended up inside qoute.
Your possibly right in the sense any co-ax switching is before amplification to keep the RF switching level down, would love to know myself.

I did watch the 'How To Build A Satellite' documentary again the other week, when I get some time I'll grab some screenshots and upload them as you'll be impressed.

Cheers too Solly for the info on the remaining Sky 2A TP, this must be uplinked to 2A on a separate antenna hence why it's not migrated.

@solly: the 2E Europe beam seems to be dropping off rapidly east of Greece.

BBC page shows bigger footprint on 2E than 1N and says "the effect on coverage within Europe: Northern France and Belgium may see an improvement, outside of this area there may be a slight reduction in coverage with the need for a larger receive antenna".

Atmospherics or secondary effects of 2E being close by?
I just got a call from a customer saying he was receiving C5 on an 1M dish with a SKY HD box - impossible here!
We checked and he had 5* and 5USA as well.. I checked where I am (about 10K away and 1.2M dish) but nothing however I can receive 4seven and C4 HD which has been impossible before. I did a quick scan of 2F and 11128V is reading -67dB, on 1st it was reading -68dB and couldn't be locked...

Normally they are quite correct at the BBC, but this is far from the truth.... the 1N UK "spot" is even stronger than the new 2E/2F Europe Beam here. Hardly a real spot beam. The new 2F beam is MUCH tighter.
