Why do you think these have gone to 2A as opposed to 2E Tivu?, excellent figures here, strength on inputs 1 and 2 100%, quality on 1 and 2 90%.

Common consent from many observers in various fringe locations. Have a scan through the General Discussion Topic (Albeit it turns out that one of the Transponders does indeed appear to have gone to 2E: 12363 V).

That is the big question. I would have thought 2E could have taken most of the channels along with a few on 2F. Maybe they will eventually move, maybe down to logistics at the ground stations or maybe we need to wait for 2G to come online and take over some channels.

Ah yes: Just realised milestone's question can be read two ways - hence two different answers!

Thanks to you both, Tivu and Timo. Yes, my question was asking why they would do such a thing rather than doubting the correctness of Tivu's statement.
Is 2G likely to have similar capacity and ability to E and F?.

Yes, the big difference with 2G is the Europe beam is wider and less concentrated on the UK, which is why I'd be a little surprised if it gets used much. The UK spot should be very similar to 2E and 2F though.

Surely they would not have designed it that way, or would modify it to a narrower Europe beam, if this was the case ?

Dont forget the Eutelsat - SES Agreement. Eutelsat will rent capacity from SES and offer it on "their" band 11.2-11.45. Maybe Eutelsat made it a condition to have a footprint available that covers what their own satellites covered before.

Makes sense.

Yes, it's often referred to: One of the better publications that collects, collates and regurgitates relatively accurate and unbiased info (A bit like a Forum, I suppose!)
