Well here's a pleasant surprise. All BBC TV channels perfect tonight, as is C4, but not ITV. Settling down to watch timeshifted "Salamander" on BBC4 HD.

Weather related? here in Prague weather is notably mild, but hardly clear. Light cloud cover all evening.

Any thoughts from you guys, does this offer any kind of hope?

Here In Slovakia I am also now clearing most channels ! Thats after I checked and realigned my dish's focal distance etc. The ITV central region gives a better signal so If you have a freesat box then change your postcode to something like ox111bx which is the town hall In Oxford think !

You may then need to change the bbc channels back via the regional variations options to one thats better ! Just go to non-freesat mode and try each bbc region for the best signal ! I think bb2 scotland is better for example!

Although the slightest bit of wind ruins reception and some channels are not perfect all the time I am glad Its not the end just yet !

And as a bonus I can even get 4seven which I never got on 2f !

Mine was more that my lnb was too close to my dish! I moved It back by 1.5cm and checked the lnb was pointing at the centre of the dish. I have motors to adjust the actual dish movement up and down from Indoors which I do almost daily at the moment as the high winds keep moving It slightly !

Hi to all,
Report fron Central Italy : Abruzzo
3 mt dish lnb Invacom quad & feedhorn ADF
35 mt cable run
Dreambox 8000 HD ferrari

In the morning i can receive most of 2e uk spot beam frequencies.
Only 10.847 and 10.936 are no locked
the reception is ok (5.8 db) from 9 am to 5pm.
Around 1pm is there is maximum signal power (6.7db)
In the evening the signal is always a little bit below the limit but no lock… :-(

2f frequencies are better than some week ago… but i need to move the dish for a best reception from 2f instead of 2e uk spot beam.

I hope to help some guy for a new monster dish in our area
:)

Hi Luniman,
I'm just outside Viareggio. I was hoping to get away with a 150/180 cm dish. I had read of signal being picked up using 150cm in Parma. Is anybody in your area using a smaller dish than you?

Hi Curly,
No is the short answer, I seem to get more with my 1.25 than others with 1.2. I have considered a 1.5 but I feel it wont give us what we want, especially if the signal is antenuated a bit later on like it was with 2F. Was the report in Parma by ssdouble by any chance? I am going to wait a bit then probably go for a 1.8 to allow for rain fade etc.

I keep posting that no one in Cyprus can receive any beams from the new 2E satellite, why am I being ignored?
The coverage map still showing reception possible with a dish >2.5m; you CANNOT! Not even with a 4.2m dish, east or west end of the island.
Viktor Mustafa.

Your not being ignored. Blob with black dot = successful report. Pin = unsuccessful or erratic reception.

Im the first to admit its not ideal but its the best I can do with the limited number of coloured pins available to me on google maps

Sadly yes, but the satellite is still worthy it. I will also trying moving the dish to 19,2 to see if the english programmes of sky de serve me :)

You will probably be better off investigating Sky Italia off 13E now. many channels run dual audio

Hi Luniman, the Parma info I got from the website www.skyinmadrid.com. I was also thinking along the lines of a 1.8 to be on the safe side. I'm going to wait a while before making a decision, as it's bound to be expensive. In the meantime I'm making do with the internet.

I've got a stronger signal today, all channels OK except CH5, just like the old days! Has 2E been nudged over a bit more?

I have found that I get all the 2f feeds all the time and most of the 2e feeds all day to early evening.

In the evening / bad weather if I move the dish with my motor a few clicks left or right I can lose 2f and get a better 2e feed and vice versa.

At the moment I try to leave it focussed on the stronger 2f and just watch the regional variations that are on 2f such as itv central south south, bbc one hd whales, bbc four hd, all c5's, channel 4 hd.

I am hoping they will move them closer together at some point !

Is it not the case that the bigger the dish, the more directional it is?
