Astra 2E: General Discussion (Post-Testing)

Did a search and what we are taking pictures of is called glint.
Lots of papers on the subject on the net like "A SURVEY OF GEOSYNCHRONOUS
SATELLITE GLINTS" by the U.S. Naval Observatory.

Way above my head but the variation of the reflected light is perfectly normal and
depends on both the shape of each satellite and also if and how it rotates.

Now I can go back to my nightshift at The Swedish Navel Observatory.

What do they do there, check out piercings? :-rofl2

We do advanced research on navel lint. Very low levels of light reflection,
almost like a black hole. Impossible to get any pictures at night. Like all
proper research it serves no purpose at all.

There aren't that many who are able to receive the full spectrum of the Ka band so we can't really tell.
