Then when finally in position and active you will not notice as your in the UK spotbeam area:D

However we in the fringes are very curious about future reception from the 2E UK spotbeam:-rofl2

""""" Wow, it finally happened! There is a god after all!! :) ""!

If it's anything like 2F's spot we may see a 2-4% signal increase over 1N in the UK. ;)

I am a "fringer" as well, but I simply want to know how things will be, not procrastinate forever...I was ready for it a year ago

besides that I already know I will get 2F ( at least most of the time ) so things are not that bad.

Playing "Obscured By Clouds" by Pink Floyd in an endless loop for a couple of
days more. Anyone got a direct line to the weather gods? The forecast for the
rest of the week doesn't look good for this part of Sweden.

Yeah me too, it's the not knowing if it's about to go that somehow seems worse than not getting it, in a weird way.

Just checked the beacon again... it must have picked up speed, TLE says 42.58°E, but I get the beacon right next to Türksat, it is about 42.2°E now. Interestingly, the beacon signal strength has improved a bit compared to yesterday.

Same as skomedal said,me too have a plan B ready if 2E is not receivable.
I'll still receive the psb channels anyhow, after 2E is in service.

And before AS comes along objecting the poor picture quality of bbc Iplayer streams,no it's not about the Iplayer:)

Yay! It's alive! It probably forgot why it was sent up there after sitting doing nothing for so long...

The TLE won't be updated again for another day or so to get a more accurate idea of movement. Llew is the best bet for an estimation of current position.

"Estimation" is right M60. I can only judge longitudinal position with the pulse counts of my positioner, and it is presently giving me a 2E reading of just a couple of pulses west of last night's reading, so it's telling me not much has changed. At least it's a real-time check though.

I'll do another check when it's obviously passing west of 42E.

The center-of-box table of Astra 2B @ 19.4 East has become almost empty, no data beyond this afternoon. :confused

Yes curious, the information though is out of order, the last entry has a time stamp before the entry above. Could it just be a glitch or is 2B off to a new home. Let's see what tomorrow brings on that one.

probably it's going to welcome 1H at 19.6 ?

We have seen weird data when 1H was on the move

Maybe they are moving it to 19.2E to put it in service, possibly to free up 2C , thenwith 1H in place as backup until 1N arrives?

2E wouldn't be able to take all 1N TP's and those of 2A's currently. The 1N widebeam ones may go to 2C until 2G arrives?

2B looks to be heading away from 19.2E so can't see 2C moving until 1N is on station.

where is 2B going, well only SES know currently, could be 23.5, 28.2, 31.5 ... Anyone with a working crystal ball?

But the fact is that 2E did indeed hold station until 1H arrived at 19.6E, and then started its own transit straight after.

It all seems highly convoluted, though!

And, for those interested in uncorroborated teasers, Member Huevos alluded to 2E doing temporary service at 31.5E. No idea what that was all about and no further information has been given.
