80% was initial fine tuning on 2A south beam (11720H).
Then 2F came in (just about) at 50% quality.

I have done some more fine tuning and have seen 70% quality on 2F

Never seen that strength on 2A. So it looks like going up to a 1m dish would be acceptable here.

could you tell me what kind of fine-tuning is necessary to optimize 2f reception, when a dish was set for 1n? previously i read some reports of significant signal gain by tweaking the dish/lnb? thanks
plus, i cant wait for more tests or switchovers, so i can experience them first hand, as with my sky box, there is no way to tune into SR23000. so far im only going by local friends' reports - which are not too promising (hungary)

Can anyone confirm 11123h is actually there look at the picture here.
Nothing.

its there anyone within the spot can confirm, my guess would be to receive it where you are your talking about 4m minimum but if the report of 5m is needed on crete is true then that might be the size you need in fringe area

rough guess going on reports i say your talking 4-5m dish but it quite possible that it will be impossible to receive once sd channels trasnfer over we will get a clearer picture what is needed

It would be nice to know if that is an active frequency.

11123H isnt an active frequency - must have been a typo. The nearest freq is 11126V (the high power C4 HD / 4seven tp)

if you are getting 99% on 1n transponder and nothing on 2f it likely you wont pick it up, but the current 2f one is hd trasnponder so until a sd transponder and channels swithc it will be hard to say for sure

Hello again!

I was wrong as my IPbox 9000 made an error.
The L= 83-84 and not 99-100 but Q=99-100, as it has been for long time.

At the same time I am glad there is progress near Bergen, and I do hope it is possible here too. In Trondheim a 1.8m dish gave result as told earlier in the forum.

Since today the signal even increased a little here :)

SES is fine tuning the footprint, I guess.

No reception _at all_ (then again, I only was able to get 1N with an avg. of 8-9 d:cool:.
Mind you, it's a skewed LNB on a t90 ... could very well have a different result with a focussed LNB and 120cm dish, but from the reports I gather, I seriously doubt it.

Well, it seems to be too wide at the moment, so perhaps they decided to tighten it even more :-rofl2

Do you have a list of transponder that might be affected by this?

It seems to me this would very useful when the next batch of signal reports come in.

Terry
Yes, I'll post later. By the way it's no good looking at Lyngsat or King-of-sat because their transponder list seems to have no relation to what is actually being transmitted in band D from those two satellites.

Any Icelandic fishermen on a boat with gyroscopic controlled dishes on the forum?? :D

Seriously I wouldnt have thought there would be many problems in Iceland as the island is more on less on the NW-SE axis of decent reception.
