Could be, but Astra 2C highest transponder frequency is 12168V.

I know that SES document is open to change, but it keeps 2A at 28E until 2015.

Id guess 2B must be wanted at 19E for the spotbeam capability to allow them to open up new markets via the spot

I suspect that too, although on the other hand you'd think they'd want to keep 2B as a backup for the 2F West Africa beam.

I don't buy this about 12207V being on 1N (or the others). Anyone with a spectrum in the UK compare the levels of 11005V and 11185V (known 1N PE transponders), against 12207V. And let's do the same from a few other locations (Greece, or Solly, for example). For me 12207V is well down on these other two.

Maybe SES are having a change of thought to get 2B to 19.2E thus taking the heat on needing 1N there ASAP as people thought back in October/November just prior to 2F's illumination.

I guess the power levels have been kept at 2B's EiRP as Sky weren't prepared to pay extra for more power? Here in the UK they are comparable to that of 2A and 2B, whether they are on 2F or 1N. One thought I've had is that if SES provided that footprint based on a higher 54dBW EiRP over the prime UK focus and Sky have refused to pay any extra in requirement for SES to deliver that sort of power output then if it's been knocked back this will have an adverse knock on to the weaker parts of the footprint, i.e. that Canaries 'hotspot'. Just a thought?

Well,we can't get anything below 11.460 here in Cyprus. 12.207v (sky news)has dropped in signal but I still get it on my 3m in Limassol. And 12.480v for ch4 . Would say just enough over the threshold for good viewing but know they will probably go off when it rains. But many people with the same size dish and same area can't get it. I'm glad I left my "patches" on my dish :-)

Confirmed Astra south Beams are way down on level here in Naples.

12.207V used to be 17-18 SNR actual level -15dBm

Now its 15dB SNR and -21dBm

On a 1.25m dish with Black Ultra LNB

12.480 also down from 17 SNR to 13 dB SNR

The South Beam used to be exptreamly strong here in Southern Itlay, now its not so good but still OK

11.778V (EPG Data) North Beam remains the same as 12.5dB SNR

@Huevos
for i got i i not got lock 11185v and 11005v
it near 1.8 c/n
the 122226h now 2.0 c/n cn no lock it

I can't lock 12207V or any of the other transponders that recently moved off 2A on a good 1.8m dish in Helsinki, but 12109H, 12148H, 12324V are showing signs of life on the quality bar but no lock. The other transponders are pretty showing nothing at all or a very slight flicker.

However I can get signals on 11009V and 11186V.

11009V is the strongest and is about 5.5-6.5dB during the day and peaks at about 8dB after midnight local time (10pm GMT) based on the readings from my DrHD F15.

11186V is weaker and is about 5-6dB during the day and peaks at about 7.5dB after midnight. During the day it's struggling to get a proper lock.

(Edited to add for comparison: 2A south beams are about 11-14dB, 2A north beams are about 16-20dB)

Local forums in Finland are reporting those that can get the 2F UK spot have best reception at night. I've also read other reports that suggest 1N is strongest in the afternoon but weaker at night.

The fact that I'm getting 11009V and 11186V would indicate to me that it's coming from 2F, but you seem convinced it's 1N?

The recent report from Xanthi about bad reception on a 1.2m made me think maybe it is 2F after all since 2F's PE beam does not cover Greece well at all compared to 1N's. To be honest I don't know what to think any more.

No I don't believe it is coming from 1N PE beam or 1N spot beam. 11006V and 11185V are stronger than 12207V. But we need people across Europe to fire up their spectrums and check levels on these transponders as they are not lockable on normal receivers.

Ha! You and me also.

And I doubt we're alone on that...

-triax 110cm , black ultra lnb
12207 V SkyNews:

Hmm, That's more than I get on a much bigger dish. It's worth noting though that this TP was the weakest TP at 28e, with the CNN one following in a slightly higher power. Now the CNN level has doubled and I have no problem locking that.

I only had 2 or 3 times locked the 11009V so far, none the 11186V. Their signal is certainly lower than that of the recently transferred transponders (which is low too). 12007V is on par with that, maybe a bit lower.

The first three scans are from this morning, I made the fourth (28e.jpg) 10 minutes ago (all signals are somewhat lower, and most not lockable due to rain).

Hi guys, looking for some much needed help.

I know absolutely nothing as far as the technical side of all this stuff goes so please bear with me if the info I need is quite basic.

I live in Stockholm (25km outside city centre) and have had SKY for over 4 years. I've got a SKY receiver that I brought over with me but only a 65cm dish.

I have never received any of the Astra 2D channels such as RTE, BBC etc but was always happy enough as long as I had all the sports channels, which I did.

Recently, my reception of the sports channels (Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 , 4 and News) has become unreliable.

Does this have anything to do with the switch to 2F? Do I now need a bigger dish to even receive those perfectly?

As said, my needs are a lot smaller than most here. All I really care about is having perfect reception on the sports channels mentioned so that I can record. Anything else I am happy to make do with watching via VPN and Sky Go.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

^^

Any help guys, only just noticed this thread. (had posted the above in Scandinavian thread)

Right now I have good quality C4, E4, More4, Comedy Central, Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports 3.

Until last week it was my Sports 2 and 3 that were dodgy and Sky Sports 1, 4 and News were perfect, now that's totally switched.

Is there anything I can do? Is it a waiting game or more a case of game over?
