This morning, In Potenza (Southern Italy), with a Prodelin prime focus dish 11Ft (3.34 m) I am able to receive all satellites at 28E. Starting from the best position for Astra2F (11023 H, 8,8 dB ) I had to route the dish towards West to catch the maximum signal at 12480V . Doing so I passed the best position for Astra1N, The variation for 12480V was from 9.5 dB (position Astra2F) and 10.2 dB (Astra1N) to 13.0 dB (best position for 1240V). So I can affirm that 12480V is not on either Astra2F or Astra1N.

What SNR are you getting compared to 1N spot?davidcmadrid said:Anybody any closer to figuring out what beam 12207V is on ?
1N PE beam is SNR 100%Huevos said:What SNR are you getting compared to 1N spot?

I've done some checks on field strength here in North West England and the PE beam of 1N (if that's what it is) certainly isn't at the same level as that of the spot. Even considering the wider antenna pattern, 1N and 2F have higher EiRP than 2A and 2B but looks like they are running the PE beam at lower power, ie the same as what 2A and 2B was/is.
Can anyone with Crazyscan analyser software do some off-air plots to reference.
1.5m and 1.8m dishes are still quite common in Finland and where pretty standard in the 90s if you wanted to watch satellite TV (eg Filmnet) before Canal Digital and Viasat came along and the higher power Astra and Hotbird satellites. My parent's neighbourhood in Helsinki isn't cabled so virtually every third house or block of flats had a 1.8m dish in the garden or on the roof looking at Astra 1A/1B/1C, and there are still a lot left.davidcmadrid said:What is the point of a beam that requires a 1.2m dish in any case .. The only people that have dishes that big are enthusiasts anyway ? I dont think the mass market is going to be putting up 1.2m dishes anytime soon.
That's got Sky Sports 4 HD, Sky Atlantic HD and Sky 1 HD on it.C0re said:According to Lyngsat there are only two transponders still active on the Astra 2B, both south beam: 11973V and 12344H.
