Maybe to avoid interfering the Russian transponders of 36 East.

it was also my first idea (i wrote it already in the german dxtv-forum), maybe they wanna beware of problems with the russian beam frequency 12190L ?

Yes and 12207R as well.
Since you report such huge signal of 12188H, probably it would be disturbing especially at the edge of the Eutelsat 36A Russian footprint: in Eastern Germany & Poland.

I'm sorry but a quick OT question. I've searced on google and on here but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Did a Eutelsat bird collide with another sat and turn them both into junk during a relocation procedure?
Remember seeing it on the morning news but didn't look into it as was out of the sat hobby.

An out of control sat hit an Iridium, and left a huge amount of extra space junk for Norad to track.

TLE #42, epoche of yesterday 12 Nov 15:23 UTC, with Astra 2F then at 38.7º East. Arrival at 28.2 East on 21 Nov at 04:00 UTC.
Today's TLE predicts current location as 36º dead, and arrival at 28.2E in the early hours on the morning of the 20th, so looks like it is moving a bit quicker now.

Yes indeed! The TLE issue number can be seen at the end of the first line, now you can see 437, ignore the 7 ( it's a checksum) so it's number 43.

Yesterday I received an interesting email from someone who deals with TLE's professionally. After a satellite manouvre, the first TLE issued after that may be a bit inaccurate. So if the satellite operator after that leaves the thrusters alone, the later TLE's should become more accurate.

Geo TLE's are only based on optical tracking, that explains there will normally be no more than one update per day.

Yes but as I said, ignore the last number, it's a checksum only.

And of course the Chinese shot up a defunct weather satellite in 2007 - (Fenyun 1C)
