very strong
Maybe we have different ideas of what "very strong" means. That spike on your chart is only 4dB above the noise floor. What aerial are you using?

Over the last 10 minutes I seen activity on:
11534V +7dB
11643V +12dB
12488V +10dB
11638H +10dB
12493H +7dB
Is there any possibility the Africa beam will be circular polarised?

i got clear " black screen "
africa beam use linear polairty
crazy scan and analog receiver to testing signal
12580v
saw signal 11527v

africa beam use linear polairty
I was only asking because of the similarity between polarisations in my post above.

how can you tell if its UK beam or WAB you are looking at .
my checks in DAKAR are that the SAMSUNG TVs they are selling just have a STD receiver inside and use a STD dish of 1M in SENEGAL

Cheers solly.

We don't know for sure whether the west african, PE or UK beam is being tested therefore it's hard to ascertain which is which. Only once the satellite gets to 28.2E will we know for sure and various Txp's are illuminated.

@m60
i think before astra 2f move to 28.2e
need to test dvb mux on 43.5e
pe beam 11856v stronger signal

new transponder on astra 2f 11303v

@solly,
Indeed signal on this frequency;to me is 11345!
Comments on this satellite is like saying: the dogs bark,the caravan passes :) Or to keep us at the same metaphor : dogs barking at the moon :)

Hi solly, are those two still on? I don't see anything here...

@strs65,it's gone now :( These tests have very short life;have no predictability

It's nice to see some sparklies again :D

You can't. But it is very unlikely the Africa beam is going to have any power here. Beam centre according to the SES map you posted yesterday is 0.0N, 30.0E. That makes me at 38.5N, 0.5W about 5º off target, compared to about 1.5º for UK spot, so I doubt very much if the signals I am seeing are in any way related to the Africa beam.

On PE and UK I just don't know. So far there has not been one report posted where I can't see the same signal. On a couple of my earier tests I couldn't see 12460 but I think that was because the cable was looped through my STB, but now it is direct I can see all the signals everyone else is reporting, and if the beams move 15º further west when the satellite moves to 28E things will only improve for me.

Current transmissions on:
11332V +4dB
11643V +12dB
12286V +7dB
12493H +6dB
