The new 2G UK spot is down about 50%. My dish has been set to 2F. 2E is still as strong as before. I assume that 2 G is not in exactly the same Position as 2 F (obviously). Must check Settings onthe dish as sson as the moves are over and the old bird will have gone elsewhere.

Reception report: Gilbertini 1.25m dish / Inverto black / Amstrad DX895 / 15m cable run. Signal quality at around 60% when watching BBC News channel HD on Astra 2G UK spot beam (I did have to tweak my skew very slightly as previous skew was getting a break-up) in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany yesterday in very rainy conditions. Interestingly my signal strength has noticeably decreased (from around 50% to 30%)...not sure why but will be keeping an eye on that.

Exactly the opposite here! Since yesterday the readings have gone up considerably. Ch5 24/7, hoping to make it tonight with all of them.

2E no running like to be exspected this time of the year.

@mickwig
you need more gain - did you think to upgrade 240 offset adding subreflector
could you please post some close ups photo of your 240 offset

Hi Samoloko, I did check out that possibility. However according to the datasheet of skywareglobal the the gain in signal is so little that it does not really make sense. The only improvement would be better separation of Polarisation. I will just have to wait until the move is over and the setup again i suppose.

Sorry, the NO was a typo. Obvbiously I meant 2E was behaving normal for this time of year which leads me ti think that my setup is OK.

situation this evening: those two new Europe 2G TPs are quite a challenge to get through a multiswitch, because they are so much stronger. I need to get an adjustable inline amp to balance that out. However reception is still possible on all the spots here. The 2E numbers are about 0.6dB too low, because the 240cm are exactly pointed at 2G for this scan.

Does anyone have a footprint map for the 2G pan-EU beam?
Thanks,
Viktor.

Thanks for that, sorry about the multiple post.
I am not on Facebook; you mention a non-Facebook link for 2E map, is that the same as 2G pan-EU?

2E Europe and 2G Europe are very different. The UK spots are very similar.

You can see the footprints here on SES's website:
http://www.ses.com/4628866/astra-2e
http://www.ses.com/4628845/astra-2f
http://www.ses.com/4628824/astra-2g

There are also some slightly more detailed maps on the Eutelsat pages for 2E/28E & 2F/28F UK, and 2G/28G Europe:
