ASTRA satellite from the Philippines

My Satellite Setup
80cm motorized. Diablo 2.3 lite cam with cas3 interface.
My Location
Lancashire
Dear all,
Just a quick question on getting ASTRA satellite from the Philippines so we can watch sky with a free sat card while over there.
1.) Is it possible?
2.) Dish size?
3.) Is there a web site that will help with the alignment?

Hi,

1.) No, it is NOT possible, because there is no line of sight from the Philippines to the ASTRA satellite. The satellite is below the horizon.
 
In fact you cant watch ANY of the European sats in the Phillipines! You are stuck with the Asian birds Im afraid.

Besides satellite there is another way of receiving TV/radio abroad. Search for slingbox, HAVA, Digizon. Expect a much lower quality and this only if you have a quick broadband flatrate with unlimited volume transfer. Further on you will need somebody in Europe receiving the stuff for you and playing the server for streaming to you.
