Hello,

I could really do with some advice for upgrading my Linux server (which runs TVHeadend, for PVR purposes), with the best PCI-e tuner card(s).

Ultimately, here is what I want to achieve:

Four DVB-S2 tuners - three connected to a static minidish (pointing at 28.2e) and the other connected to a USALS motorised satellite dish.

My initial thought was just to buy one of these:

TBS6905 DVB-S2 Quad Tuner PCIe Card

However, I have been advised to avoid them with Linux as the software needs recompiling after every kernel update.

I have therefore been consider other options.

So far, I have come across this:

4 Tuner TV card DVB-S/S2 für PCIe (Set) - DD Cine S2 V7A & DuoFlex S2 V4A

or potentially a couple of these:

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The DD Cine seems to work only with Unicable LNB.
I would check this point, in case you need legacy LNB support as well.
If you decide to order it anyway, then it might be a good idea to order also a CI CAM Extension

Thanks for that - I really do need to check the Unicable position as I don't think that would work with what I am trying to do.
